My overall experience at IDEA College Prep is highly recommend because teachers push you to do better, more than you ever know. IDEA gets you ready for the big things in life such as a career for college. They prepare you for the intensive instruction you will be receiving in college. Teachers are very supportive and give you the necessary tools to sucessed in your high school years. They as well prepare you for the real world and life outside of IDEA. They gave me the experience needed for me to want to go to college and be successful in life.
It’s a very helpful school in the terms that they have advanced classes for you to prepare you for college and they teach you what you need to know, they also connect you with colleges so it can be easier for you to get accepted
I have been at Idea since I was in elementary. Being here has given me the opportunity to give back to my parents and make them feel proud of my achievements. Throughout my years I have learned the importance of the role a good academic life has in my life and how it impacts my success in the future. What makes Idea a good school is it’s rigorous courses. A lot of the times I find myself wanting to give up due to the rigor and yet I’m always surrounded by teacher who are there to motivate me and to help me with whatever I need. Something I wish could change are the uniform policies. I understand that some are enforced go maintain a safe environment but other I feel are over the top. That is why I think some uniform policies should change
it has made me the person i am today. despite the struggles through the ib program, i felt the strong support from my teachers.
I belive this school is for students who dedicated and want to go to collge. It is very easy to fail if you don't pass the tests and the classes. Most of your classes will be AP or Pre- AP classes
Idea Donna is great for students that want to challenge themselves with great Pre-AP, AP, and IB courses that are rigorous. Administration is great at encouraging and pushing students to improve academically. Software and teacher lectures are well implement in student learning and other sources are encouraged. IB teachers are always involved looking to help students with any essays they have. Other high school teachers are always open to writing letter's of recommendation or heavily involved in college process. Something that needs improvement is counselor/ mental health awareness. Funding for tutoring after school was removed as well as funding for materials.
Idea College Provides IB courses for free and though it may be a very difficult curriculum to do well it, it will definitely help you in the long run with college level courses.
Idea college preparatory prepares you for the future experiences. Since it’s a small school, it helps you decide whether you would want a big college or a small college community. The benefit of having a small school is that you feel close ti your peers.
Idea Eastside college prep is a really good school they treat you right, and they understand you as a person.
Friendly staff, engaging staff and classes. The school is focused on making students college ready. It provides great opportunities for students.
Throughout my years in IDEA Donna I felt that it was very college driven, the counselors and teachers do always want you to think about college, even during elementary where they made us research a college we would like to go to. However, the change I would like to see is an increase in classes. What I mean by that is when we are in high school, you are given the classes you are given, you only get to choose one of your electives which is either Band or Art. We could not take any other classes that we may be interested in or classes that would give us credit for a specific degree later on.
What I like about the school is that the teacher are there for when anybody need help and ensure that the student will have the chance to not only pass but to also gain experience from their mistakes to get sent in the write direction. they were very helpful during the application process for college and the college counselors are there every step of the way in order to ensure that you are doing it correctly and also doing to the best of its ability in order to try and get accepted to your dream university or college. They even have the IB program for free which gives an introduction to college level classes preparing students for the type of work they will get when they go to college.
At Idea College Prep Donna the main focus is academics and college readiness. Because of this, they are severely lacking in clubs and activities, sports, school culture and STEM subject. The main focus is getting students to college and that is all. Despite being a small school, the school culture is lacking because of the over focus on academics.
My experience attending IDEA College Prep - Donna has been both positive & negative. Positive because it truly puts students in a position to succeed by giving them the resources and support necessary. For instance, IDEA Donna offers the prestigious International Baccalaureate curriculum that puts them at a world wide standard for free. However a negative experience would be that there are limited resources & funds for extracurricular activities which inhibits student organizations from thriving.
IDEA is the reason I feel prepared for college. They have given me an education I feel I could not have gotten anywhere else. I would like for them to care a bit more about the arts.
What I love about IDEA Donna College Preparatory is hands down the teachers. They are very engaging and caring when it comes to educating a student to the best of their abilities. I also love the staff because they are very kind and friendly. There has never been a day where I do not receive a "good morning" or "have a good day" from them.
