I loved the freedom I had to study topics that I cared about or had questions about, not just whatever we were doing at the moment. That flexibility made me really enjoy my classes and feel competent in the skills I was learning. I feel like the amount of structure allowed me to be ready for the level of rigor expected in college, while still cultivating a love of learning.
A lot of online schools are so disconnected, but so many of my teachers bridged the gap between students all over the country to unite us in our studies. It's so much more than just a stack of textbooks, it's somewhere that encourages each student to flourish as an individual and grow in both their strengths and weaknesses to all in all become a better student.
These past years have given me so many opportunities that I wouldn't have had otherwise, and now that I'm graduating, I am so grateful for the teachers, admin, and fellow students who have been alongside me during this journey. Thank you IHLA High School!

They are very accommodating when it comes to school, I had to have a different study plan than other students. I would take 2 classes one week & another 2 classes the next week. Though most of the events they hold to allow students to socialize are aimed for younger students they are adding more activities for older students. They also have great teachers and staff, teachers are very understanding and the material can be advanced if the current material is to easy for a student, called fast tracking. It's a great online school
I've taught my kids at home for 16 years. Tech Trep Academy through IHLA is the best program I've ever used! They have a great parent Facebook group, give the perfect amount of support while giving families freedom to personalize education for each student. They offer many online resources, a supplemental learning fund to pay for other educational resources, free field trips, and home educator conferences. They really care about every student and family and it shows. I've tried many of the other virtual schools in Idaho and Tech Trep Academy wins hands down. Go browse the Facebook page and ask other parents their opinions. You will not be be disappointed!
