The Idaho Fine Arts Academy is a great school. It changed buildings recently and the new location is convenient and well taken care of. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the student body is welcoming, talented, and fun to be around
Going to this school was one of the best experiences I've ever had. This is one of the most amazing schools out there, the talent is just unmeasurable and goes beyond all expectations. Throughout all my years of being there, I learned so many vital skills and fascinating things. I learned and nurtured my passion for the performing arts in so many ways. I genuinely love this school, and the teachers, arts, and academics are like no other school. They also have a great overall community and leadership club.
I have attended Idaho Fine Arts Academy for almost 4 years. I was nervous when I first started freshman year, but I have come to love everything about the school. The students are excepting and diverse, the teachers are understanding and do not hesitate to treat you like home, and the art program is amazing. I have learned so much as a visual artist and my teacher has been able to help me learn about my art style.
I absolutely love Idaho Fine Arts Academy. I never fit in very well in large public schools, but I thrived here. I've been doing theater in Idaho Fine Arts Academy for 7 years now and I've never regretted it. The teachers are friendly and know you personally, they're flexible and understanding but they're also dedicated to preparing you for college and the future. The school is very friendly and there's no social ladder or popularity group from what I've seen in my years. For the most part, everyone gets along, treats each other kindly and has each other's backs. I have especially enjoyed the theater program as that is especially tight knit. It's a safe space for people of all kinds. I would definitely like to see a better performing space and more time and money for extracurricular clubs, and better food.
I have attended Idaho Fine Arts Academy (IFAA) for seven years. I am a vocal major at my school. For anyone who has passions for art, music, singing, theater, film, etc. I would highly recommend coming to IFAA. The classes are smaller so you get more one on one time with teachers and your school becomes your family. Everyone knows each other and always are friendly.
IFAA is amazing. The teachers really care about their students and take the time to get to know them while also offering a stellar education. Every class is so in-depth and I really enjoy getting such a wonderful experience out of my high school. Not to mention the arts based curriculum. I am in Theater and we get to do so much that teaches us about stagecraft and acting, I am so grateful I got the opportunity to come here.
Great school! Focus not only on the arts, but very academic as well. I feel like their approach to learning is really great for very smart, artistic kids.
I absolutely loved my experience attending Idaho Fine Arts Academy! I attended my senior year of high school and from the first day both students and teachers helped me to feel completely included and welcomed. I felt the teachers truly cared about me and helping me to pursue my dreams. I was in the dance majors program and was able to achieve my childhood dream of choreographing and performing a dance solo at the end of the school year. This was all thanks to the amazing support I received from both my peers and teachers. I love the long lasting relationships I formed at the Academy. If I could change anything I would add a few more elective options for students. I would have loved to take an advanced Spanish class my senior year. Overall, my experience was fantastic and I am so grateful I got to attend such an incredible high school!
IFAA is the best school for any student that wants a future in the arts or wants to focus on it during their high school career! There’s so much opportunity in artistic areas, but others greatly lack. Unless you want to spend the rest of your life doing something relating to the arts, it’d probably be better to attend a school that has more electives which pay attention to what you want to do later in life. IFAA is a very small school; there’s no real variety in available electives. There are more online electives, but it would be really nice were there more immersive, in-class ones. The school also doesn’t have any sports, which is unfortunate for some students who then travel to another school for a sports team
The Idaho Fine Arts Academy was a very special school to me. It allowed me to pursue my art in a much more focused way than any other public high school would. Not only did it give me exceptional opportunities in my art, the other academic classes were also very good. Because the school is very small, classes were much more personal and interactive, which is something I appreciate in a learning environment. Also because of the small size, my grade felt more like a family. The inclusive and tight-knit environment is something I highly enjoyed and will look back on with fondness.
I have always felt comfortable expressing my opinions or sharing my ideas because I know that I will be listened to and responded to with true thought. I feel inspired and encouraged every day by the staff because they always support me, and at time it seems like they believe in me and my abilities more than I believe in myself. I have been attending IFAA going on 7 years now and I wouldn't dream of being anywhere else.
I love the school. Since the grades range from 6th-12th, middle and high school get to know one another. Some of the high schoolers tutor the middle schoolers as well. The art programs are what the school focuses on. There are 5 different artistic majors and every major gets a chance to showcase their skills to the public and each other. The school is very small, so everyone knows one another, especially in the classrooms. The majors are split between high school and middle school, so the students get to interact with people with the same passions as them as well as people in different grades. Everyone is very friendly, and there is hardly any drama between students.
I've been attending this school ever since it became public and even through all its bumps and bruises I can still say this school has taught me things I could never experience in a public school. Our school is extremely big on community involvement and fundraising which brings the entirety of the school together. While there are some disadvantages of being a 6-12 grade school, I can say that the experience has made me a better person than if I went to a school filled with peers. The small classes are also a major plus and the teachers get to watch you grow and know your strengths which allows them to help you more personally for college stuff than public school could ever. Honestly this is a dream school for any art perusing kids.
As an alum, I cannot recommend IFAA enough. The atmosphere is fantastic and very creatively stimulating! No matter what major you enter, the amount of growth that happens even within a year is impressive. The teachers and staff are all passionate and accommodating and amazing people as well.
I love the learning environment at my school. I came from a huge school so transitioning here was different, but overall the learning environment is fantastic and all the teachers really want to see you succeed.
I began attending Idaho Fine Arts Academy sophomore year of high school and it was the best decision I've ever made. At my school you have to audition to get in and I was the only sophomore visual artist accepted in. I've truly excelled in my academics and my art all because of the environment I'm in. I don't dread going to school like I used to and when I'm at Idaho Fine Arts Academy it doesn't even feel like I'm at school. I feel like my school is a family and I adore it. It's going to be very hard graduating and leaving a place that I call home. However, I know this school has prepared me very well and I wouldn't be the person I am today without it.
Idaho Fine Arts Academy is a loving and accepting school. I am now a senior and have been attending for four years. IFAA has changed my life. I have learned to be more compassionate, loving, accepting, and kind to those who are much different than me. My graduating class currently has 25 students, most of whom I have gone to school with since my freshman year. I have also had the same teachers, both core and art, since my freshman year. Because of this, I have learned to love people who are much different than I am; people that in middle school, when I went to a public school with hundreds of kids, I would have never given a chance. I have also learned who I am: I have developed my own personal style and have learned what hard work really is.
