My experience with Ida high school has been informative, fun, and impactful. I love the location of my school - middle of nowhere, small town USA. Many people don’t even know Ida exists. It’s comforting in a way but the fact that we are so small means we aren’t as diverse. The diversity in my high school is small, which doesn’t give kids a real perspective on life. Most of the students are farm kids & many of them don’t even know what culture is. If I could change Ida, I would wish for more diversity and culture. The good thing about being in a small town is that everybody knows everybody. Most everyone gets along. Teachers make learning fun, and there are many times that I am genuinely excited to go to class. I’ve gone to Ida since kindergarten. I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Going to a Ida has impacted me greatly, giving me a sense of adventure, making me want to go to places in the world where I’ve never been. I love learning, growing, and planning my life at Ida high school.
I believe Ida is a very intelligent school. The teachers there really do push you to do your best but are also understanding and lenient. Ida district is very small which gives teachers the opportunity to connect with and get to know each student personally. I think this massively affects learning bc each student can feel heard and get help when it is needed. I also believe that it is a very loving and supportive school all of the staff wants you to do your best and will go out of their way to help you better yourself even if it is an inconvenience to them. The only negative thing I can think to say is the food. I was in the second lunch last year and there were several occasions they ran out of the main course and I was left with just sides. Overall, I think Ida is a very smart and caring school that has me set on the right path to go to a good college.
If you’re looking for an extremely diverse high school with multitudes or after school activities and an accepting/kind student body, I’d advise not going here. I’d say one of the only positives are the teachers and administrators! They’re all very kind and have been the highlight of my four years here.
