Hutchison High School Reviews
Rating 4.06 out of 5 62 reviews
Hutch is certainly one of the best schools in the area, if not the best. Many teachers are dedicated, hard-working, and patient. The small environment is not for everyone, but was perfect for me. Although this can be a roadblock for students seeking more academically rigorous classes that can be found at the larger schools. It is not without its faults, but I greatly enjoyed my experience here.
Hutch was a very fun environment to be in. The teachers were very helpful and friendly, eventually they become like family. The academics were great, and the teachers were always very helpful. What I would like to see change is the counselors and sports. Hutch doesn't have a lot of participation in sports and when there are participants the coaches aren't the best for some of the sports.
I loved how the teachers committed so much time and effort into their students. A lot of my teachers would stay late or even work during their lunch or free periods just to help the students who were not learning as quickly. I also loved how even if you played sports and were the best player on the team they made you work for your grades. There was no favors or hands out which definitely helps when you go to college. I did also really appreciate the security level in this school. A lot of the other schools in the area had many issues with either fights, racism, or threats. The only thing about this school that was not so great, was the diversity. Most of the population of the school was Caucasian and being an African American at that school sometimes felt very awkward. I almost felt like I could not be myself. Overall this is a great High School and it has helped shaped me in who I am today.
