Hurricane High School gave me and my siblings the best years of our lives. Between sports, clubs, and classes, we constantly stayed busy. The great thing about HHS is that they accept everyone, no matter your race, religion, or even your size! There is no other school I would’ve wanted to attend for my high school years. All the teachers and faculty were always so loving, and if I could stay in high school forever, I would. I’m so thankful for my time at HHS and it’s sad to say it’s almost over. The only thing I would change about HHS is that sometimes you can notice they expect more out of students who perform on a higher level, I’m in no way saying I don’t like a challenge, but I think it would be better for all the students if they held us all to the same standard.
Hurricane High School is a public high school located in West Virginia. While not outstanding nationwide, this school is one of the best in the state. It's located in Putnam county, the only growing country in the state. The best part about the school is the sheer variety of classes it offers. The school does it's best to prepare all students, regardless of their intended career, for the future. It offers PCTC, AP Classes, College credit, and ROTC programs.
One of the aspects that I really enjoyed about Hurricane High School is that they offered college level classes. Meaning, not only could I earn my high school credit, but also college credit. Not only was it convenient, but it saved a lot of money to take it now rather than in college. They also offer you time during your schedule to take completely online college courses. (As long as you have all of your high school credits.) This was also beneficial to me because of the money, and because it made sense to choose this option instead of taking unnecessary high school level classes.
