During my high school years, Huron High School underwent changes, which are still continuing, from principal turnovers to staff shifts and policy amendments-to the rising dissent of staff and students. Despite this, I rate my time at Huron High School 4 out of 5 stars. Football games and themed weeks brought excitement; the school offers many dual enrollment, AP, and vocational courses, aiding college readiness and reducing costs. The teachers there are dedicated and mostly enjoy their subjects. Diverse student clubs allow pursuing interests and initiating new ones. While athletics excel, arts funding lacks. Despite a good auditorium, limited support hampers full artistic achievements. Your Huron experience depends on actions. Participation in sports and clubs for friendships and college prospects is advisable. Maintaining academics ensures smooth navigation. Seize opportunities for optimal learning. I find contentment in my Huron years, except for administration and arts funding.
Huron High School is an excellent school. If you are interested in blue collar careers such as woodworking or being a mechanic it’s an excellent choice. The teachers at Huron are some of the best they devote themselves to their students and not only build intelligent and respectful young men and women but they also form good relationships with students. These relationships help Huron students in their process of applying to colleges or jobs. The science department is very good, students may take the basic science classes or chose from AP or accelerated classes. Ms. Farrell does a wonderful job at teaching accelerated chemistry, really preparing the students for college courses. Ms. Bergesasy teaches AP Bio, her lessons are fun and engaging. Huron students perform very well on school and AP exams thanks to the strong support system at school. Huron High School makes sure to prepare the students for the SAT and ACT, juniors are required to take a class to prepare for the SAT.
My time at Huron High School was very enjoyable. Here we are a very tightly knit school where everyone seems to know everyone. It is very comforting to know that I can go talk to anyone in the school about anything; whether it be a teacher, staff member, or student. During my time here I experienced great personal growth; I largely credit that to my friends and teachers. The entire staff is incredibly nice and easy to work with. I have learned much more than I had initially expected when going into high school. Huron High School also offers the usual sports that you would expect at a high school. I, personally, have participated in baseball and football; I loved the teams and a companionship that came with them. One thing that really sets Huron apart is our math and science departments. This year the school is adding a new STEM lab complete with 3D printers and more. I am going to miss this school, but, more specifically, I am going to miss the people here.
