My experience at Huntington Park Senior High was very unique. I believe that this school has a lot of pride and a lot of spirit, which is why it was fun to attend here. Although, I will admit that there are times where they felt a little unorganized but overall I had a good time and the college office was helpful as a senior. This school definitely offers a lot of programs, and teachers really care about the education of students here as well as their safety and how comfortable they feel. I definitely felt comfortable at this school, and I liked taking advantage of all the opportunities and resources Huntington Park High School had to offer, especially being part of the STEM Magnet Program, which was really beneficial to me in a lot of ways, helping think critically and solving problems in everyday real life. Ive definitely made a lot of memories at this school, and I do not regret attending this school, for it has really prepared me for life in the real world after High School.
In my opinion the teachers and staff are amazing at their jobs. They go above and beyond to guide their students on task and rules they must follow. Each teacher that I've had the privilege being their student taught me many things whether that be about life or the subject that we are learning. The staff enforces rules that are supposed to benefit the school, like the phone rule as well as the tardy rule. This ensures that student come to school/ class on time and helps many more students focus on what's going on in the classroom. One thing that I do wish to say, is that they should be more organized, under all the construction they should regulate all the necessary requirements with more time to not inconvenient students nor staff.
In terms of academics I’d say the school is doing great with providing students with opportunities to succeed not just for the four years we attend but for our future. However, when it comes to the environment outside of the class there is a lack of care and attention specifically towards student safety. I think that the administration needs to put more care into ensuring there is a safe environment for us to learn in. The teachers do their very best and go above and beyond to care for students and ensure they have a good learning environment but the administration doesn’t do the same.
