Hunter Elementary School Reviews

Words cannot adequately describe the love I have for this school! The diverse community, the teacher/admin caliber, the incredible opportunities in GT/AIG program, the attention to creating responsible learners through the 4 Cs of Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity, and the differentiation (meeting children where THEY are academically), rigor, and engagement in all classes is unmatched! The elective program (students attend chosen 40 minute classes 2 x each day in their interest areas) including classes such as orchestra, aeronautics, speaking and debate, track, theater production, science olympiad, Robotics, chorus, ballet, and 100s more, offers opportunities that have nurtured my child On EVERY level! The AIG program, includes enrichment classes for K-3 and AIG Basics daily instruction in 4-5.... again, unmatched. All this PLUS the most loving caring staff who are genuinely eager to make my child (and every child) smile. We love love love it!

I feel so blessed that my daughter goes to Hunter. I'm blown away with all the school has done to support her development. I love that they do pull-out AIG enrichment starting in K instead of 3rd G. The teachers differentiate instruction based on the child's individual needs, and Hunter also has more AIG certified teachers than any other school in Wake Co.

I'm impressed with number & strength of electives & extracurriculars. Hunter has award winning performing arts, orchestra, band, Science Olympiad, & Chess teams. Hunter is different from other schools in that here, it is actually COOL to be a SMART kid. If you aren't involved in something at Hunter, you are probably going to feel some peer pressure to join in.

Lastly, I am in awe of the leadership & teachers at Hunter. Hunter's leadership team truly supports the staff, and it shows. If you are not familiar with it, check out the NC Teacher Working Conditions survey. Hunter's scores are some of the highest in the state.
This is hands down the best school ever. Not only does the school offer different classes, the staff TRULY CARES about the students.
