If your goal is to be ready for college while surrounded by a devoted staff that truly cares for their students' success, then this is the place to be. Alumni always told me the college was a breeze after attending Hume-Fogg, and now that I'm in college I can second that! Hume-Fogg is challenging, but its definitely worth the work, my teachers and counselors were like a second family and they inspired me to pursue a career in education so I can give back to the community what they gave to me. Hume-Fogg is a magical castle in the heart of Nashville that will foster memories that'll last a lifetime and a skill set that will have you confident in your abilities to achieve your goals in college and in your career.

Hume-Fogg was a hard, but rewarding experience. Throughout my experience, I have taken part in numerous clubs such as the Diversity Club, Youth in Government, Model United Nations, Debate Club, American Red Cross Club, Orchestra, and more. I would say that Hume-Fogg has plenty of different clubs specific towards each students interests and hobbies. The teachers and classes at Hume-Fogg are very good and are able to teach student valuable interesting concepts. However, Hume-Fogg is a college preparatory school, which preps students for college workload and more. This becomes harder for some students to know what major they want to pursue, as there are no classes catered towards different majors; for example, some schools have computer science programs and coding classes which helps students designate what they want their intended major would be.
My school is the main reason I am living such a happy life. Hume-Foggis rich with culture and resources and I continue to be inspired by its opportunities. I’ve gotten to try new things and learn what I like and don’t like from an educational standpoint. I am still a little surprised that I would love theatre as much as I do, and by going to this school I became interested in a subject I had never previously loved: English. Also, being in a downtown school gave me beautiful memories AND a fun education. My friends and I would visit museums, go to concerts, buy lunch, march at peaceful protests, and play laser tag. Nashville is a tourist destination and has a significant homeless population – no one is 100% safe but I feel like I’ve got more “street smarts” than if I’d gone to my neighborhood school. In the end, these experiences I’ve gained have only made me want more of them.
