Hugo High School Reviews

The best thing about being in the small town of Hugo is growing up with everyone around you. I can name almost anyone in my high school, and even tell you a bit about them because I practically grew up with them. We're a small community but my peers and I work hard to demonstrate our pride at school, wearing our school colors and participating in activities such as the Buffalo Bonfire during Homecoming, or pep assemblies and choir nights. Even the parents get involved, and I was lucky to attend the school's prom at the Choctaw Casino, something put together by the PTO, a group of parents that get together to raise funds for dances and host fun fundraisers and events. I am glad to be a student of Hugo High School.
The best part of my experience at Hugo High is all of the connections I have made, this school has helped me make memories and friendships that are definitely going to last forever. I would like to see the school system itself change, they genuinely do not care if students are being bullied or harassed as long as the football team is winning they are happy.
What I like about Hugo is that they’re kind of strict and we have good rules. I feel like that kind of gets us ready for the real world by us following directions or we get in trouble. The teachers are mostly really helpful, I don’t have one teacher that I don’t like. The school also allows us to get connected with ways to further our education and I think that is really important. Something that I would change about Hugo school is the dress code. I think we should be able to express ourselves a little more by what we wear. There should definitely be a dress code but I think it should be less strict about stuff in that area. The dress code is also unfair. It allows the boys to get away with lots of things but does not allow the girls to wear much. Hugo High School is a good school, I can’t complain much.
