Hueytown High School Reviews
Rating 3.68 out of 5 200 reviews
Hueytown High school has a great environment for sport centered students, from football to golf, there's a vast collection to choose from. Education wise Hueytown is quite average there's your standard classes that a student is required to take but if you're looking for a challenge the school is below par. There are teachers that help and others that would rather see you struggle a bit before offering guidance. To make the school for the better teachers should be more open to helping students instead of nagging at them first. The school also doesn't have that many extracurricular activities I'd add more options for better student engagement. Personally speaking my experience at Hueytown high school was average at best, the school is safe, and I'm not really into sports, therefor my experience was simply ordinary.
I have not attended any other high school to know how Hueytown High School compares to other schools, but I have had a good experience here. I have always made the best while others have not. The teachers have always been good people even if they aren't the best teachers. They make me feel welcome and as if we are a community within a community. The best time I have had was in the TV production class. That class completely changed me as a person and a student. The worst time I have had was the teachers that were good people, but not so great teachers. I am not going to point fingers or name names but they didn't teach but they would always be there if you needed someone to talk to. Something I would like to change is a certain counselor who does not respond to emails and always seem too busy and they are just a mess. I have heard multiple things about them but my experience is they won't respond to emails and it makes it hard to get things done.
I have been attending Hueytown highschool for all 4 years .The safety at Hueytown has gone down tremendously as well as the education . Many teachers engagewwith the students actively and those teacher have close relationships with the students, but the teachers who dont , either doesnt care about the students or just isn't a good teacher. I would like to see the teachers care more and better school spirit through out the school and just a better environment for the students to feel safe and ready to learn.
