I’m general, it was a good school. The teachers at the school definitely care for their students and it’s easy to see. Although there are students who seem to just not care for school, the administrators have shown that they are there to help each and every student with their situations. The school can really work on the variety of classes, since the majority of students going there are Spanish speaking it can be harder to have more classes other than English and more Spanish but they should look into getting classes to teach about real-life things. Some classes that could be helpful might be cooking or sewing class which they used to have but discontinued it. They should also add a few more clubs or academies to get their students involved.

The thing that I liked about Hueneme High School is that all the teachers make you feel welcomed. There’s lots of adults on campus that can help you with any question you need answered. Although this school is not rated the best in the Oxnard Union High School District, let me tell that I spent my last 4 years of high school here. My experience here was just amazing, good teachers, outstanding clubs/activities, and most of all my friends. It’s just crazy to believe that it’s my last year here and that I won’t be able to walk down the line with all my friends and family by my side due to this pandemic going on right now. Overall this school was an awesome experience for me in which it gave the opportunity of being the first member in my family to go to college. I will go to college in the support of my EAOP advisor, teachers, friends, and most of all my family.
Hueneme High School is a great high school to go to in my opinion. The reason I say this with pride is the entire campus itself. Every teacher has a great knowledge of what they are teaching and are willing to help students if needed and whenever they can, the programs and clubs in the school are plentiful but specific to where students won’t get confused, and there are plenty of activities outside of school that students can be apart of and are notified of these opportunities at the college & career center which also has spokespeople from different colleges speak to incoming graduates and they also help seniors with college applications.
