Very impressed with this school . My son is in kindergarten and loves going to school. He knew some Spanish going in and after only a couple months his vocabulary and confidence with the language grew tremendously. He loves his teachers and we have seen nothing but great things.
HWIS has been a great experience for our family. While we weren't looking for private school for our daughter, we were determined to find a solid dual language Spanish program that offered the academic excellence, language education/literacy, and the strong support system she deserved. Many of the public schools we found did not meet our needs, but we found that HWIS hit all these marks and it opened our eyes to the possibilities for our daughter.
Our daughter is shy andeager to learn, and comes home every day with a sense of pride in what she learned. HWIS focuses on building a strong culture, nurturing a child's mind, and bringing phenomenal talent in the teachers and administration to ensure the school itself continue to improve.
We feel that immersive education is far greater than other schools that teach as an exercise of repetition and translation. We feel we made the best possible choice for our daughter and have been extremely satisfied with her development and growth.

I cannot say enough great things about my experience at Hudson Way. We have children in both the Chinese and Spanish program. My 4 year old is new to HWIS and entered the Spanish program. From the first day, he has been excited about learning and came home speaking Spanish! He loves his teachers who have fostered his independence and love of reading. His teachers are approachable, attentive, and invested in the children. During drop off, he easily leaves us and runs to his teachers ready to start his day. When he asks words in English he also asks to learn them in Spanish. I am just thrilled with his progress.
We are a proud HWIS family with 2 children in the Spanish program. We came to HWIS for a school that would provide a holistic education, form our children as global citizens, and provide a nurturing environment that fuels their confidence and cultivates a love of learning - while learning in Spanish! We have found all that and more.
Our kids love going to school each day where they find small classes and age-appropriate leaning across a variety of disciplines, suited for diverse learning styles. Students learn Spanish by learning about other topics in Spanish- like Math, Social Studies, and Science- and they develop literacy in 2 languages. At HWIS, education is rooted in core school values and a commitment to character development. The teachers’ depth and experience shines through in all they do.
As parents, we are grateful for the friendships we have made with other families. We look forward to getting to know new families and welcoming you to HWIS!

I LOVE this school! My daughter is fluent in Mandarin and our household does not speak Chinese at home. The teachers and staff are beyond caring and obviously love what they do. It translates to the happy environment there. Its a small school community, with administration that is responsive to parents needs and concerns. In our Manhattan neighborhood (district 2), we have so many great free options for school. But we've decided that for our daughter, we will continue to send her there through the highest grade offered (8th). I can't say enough good things about this place! They address both the psycho-social AND academic needs of the child. Thoroughly impressed with how the school has addressed things when covid went down as well. A happy mom.
The bilingual education at Hudson Way is great. As a non-mandarin speaker, I see my kids gaining a lot of confidence from having a special skill that others may lack. The small class sizes allow for great teaching. The school has done a good job with elearning in the face of COVID19.
Outstanding. My wife and I have three children, one girl and Two boys. Sending our first son to Hudsonway was the best educational decision we have ever made. My son loves speak Mandarin and he loves to go to school. He enjoys spending every moment staying at school and he loves his classmates and teacherA. It made the decision to send his siblings to school very easy. Our youngest is now a Junior. We are very lucky our boys wenT to Hudsonway. It truly is special place.
We would like to thank you for a job well done! We are all very impressed with the e-learning approach. It was easy, organized, and the kids had a blast. It was fascinating to see the kids/teachers in action and to hear the little ones communicating in Mandarin among themselves. Specially when we have no Asian roots in our family.
Thank you for being so proactive and ready during these unique times. Having the ability to rapidly adapt to change makes times like this one be more manageable and less chaotic; HWIS did just that.
Some, not all, private schools, which are well equipped with the same technology chose to close without offering the e-learning option at the moment.
The fact that we got to experience this alternative method prior to the spring break will allow for better planning on our (parents) end in he event the situation does not improve by then.

Staff should be better trained in how to deal with 2yo toddlers. Not a place to send your 2 yo child. Too restrictive. Toddlers needs to be free to explore their environment. Space in classroom is not conductive for 2-3 yo. Very restrictive environment.
