I transferred to Hudson High School in February of my freshman year. I came from a different state because my family and I had moved. This school did not communicate active events, clubs, and opportunities to students, especially new ones like me. This has made high school very difficult for me because I do not know of many things currently going on in my school. An example of this is the Cambridge Program. This was new to me and I wish I was able to join before it was too late. Although this school may struggle with communication, they do an excellent job with the Cambridge Program. Even though I am not a part of this, I can still take Cambridge classes. These classes are extremely advanced compared to regular courses. I feel I learn more, feel more challenged, and face new ways of learning in these clases.
Hudson is an amazing school filled with so many supportive and great staff. Although, it is in a low income neighborhood and due to that the lifestyle of many students isn’t great. The teachers and administration staff make it great for everyone. I have definitely seen the first hand support they offer in many different areas of a students life. The respect that goes on from adult to the young adult is amazing and something not found in many high schools. It is amazing to see the progress it has many over the last four years and I can’t wait to see what will happen next for it. For now, in my opinion, all that need to “improve” is the construction going on but it’s all part of the process that will have a great result!
i have only attended this school for only 2 years now some of the staff are really sweet and caring but when it comes to keeping you on track it all depends on you, you have to mend for yourself because no one would give you advice on things, you have to do your own research and you have to know what you need to graduate. it is always a hit or miss when it comes to your counselor because they are divided by grades, unfortunatly i would say i don't have the best counselor in my opinion she always kinda slacks off when you ask her something she would give you a "halfassed" response and tell you to talk to someone else or look somewhere else even tho i was told to go to her for that specific question. however if you are an aspiring athletes then i would recommend this school a lot of colleges look at this school for aspiring athletes and there are many sport options that you can join!
