Hubbard High School Reviews
Rating 3.61 out of 5 340 reviews
Hubbard has culturally-rich students and staff which make you feel at home all throughout the day. Hubbard offers a large array of clubs and sports and even allow students to take the initiative in creating their own club if they wish. Much of the current staff where once CPS students and many even assisted Hubbard, knowing the building, curriculum, and neighborhood, teachers really get to connect with students in a meaningful way. What I would lie to see removed are the “hallway policies” which require all students outside the classroom to carry a bathroom pass, and prohibit students from using the restroom the first and last 10 minutes of each period. As explained to students before, these rules are measures to prevent students from cutting class, I still think, however, that students are entitled to use the bathroom whenever they please. Despite this, Hubbard is a small school with big opportunities.
My personal experience while my time attending Hubbard High School was absolutely the best. There were times were I had my moments but other than that it was a good time. There is a lot of diversity within staff and students. Staff members make you feel safe & welcomed, the environment is just positive overall!
Overall the education, I would say is extremely good and definitely was way better than I originally expected when first coming into Hubbard as a freshmen. They have a lot of opportunities at Hubbard as well as very exciting electives. Moving onto the worst parts, I would say, simply teachers expecting a little too much of students which causes stress towards their mental health. As well as some teachers take advantage of their authority and at times disrespect students. Although that’s an issue among teachers. I would not say all teachers are this way though, only a few . Most teachers are actually super accepting and accommodating and understanding and helpful. They are there as a support when problems come up involving school. Which I feel is very important to have someone at least in school you can rely on for help.
