In a school filled with students who have a tremendous amount of potential, the ever-changing administration often fails to hit the mark. Whether its unenforced policy that is existent for the sole purpose of control and maintaining appearances, or teaching bare-boned curriculum, the learning environment has ultimately become a cesspool of mediocrity and low expectations. The only saving grace for that particular institution would be the students there who have the intention to succeed and refuse to be defined by their rather unfortunate circumstances. They are the ones who push and work towards making their school a viable means for intellectual expansion, instead one of stagnancy.

Needs to work on communication with staff and students. Many teachers genuinely care for their students but most of them don't care enough to even try and comprehend with what happens at home. The school board rarely ever listen to what the students have to say and when they do they find a way to spin everything around and blame the teachers, so much so that now every single teacher has to re-apply for their job.
There are plenty of great things I have accomplished at Law and Government Academy. During my two (2) years at Hartford Public High School, I have been given with some remarkable opportunities, such as giving a lecture about the lessons to my fellow students, assuming the leadership role for group projects, and acting as a school ambassador for English Language Learner students who are new to the school. All of these opportunities have helped to shape me and to grow as an individual.
While my time as a high school student at Hartford Public has mostly been enjoyable, it has likewise been stressful. However, I have learned my life will have highs and lows. Of this, I must relish the good times but be prepared to meet challenges of the difficult times. So, with my hope of reaching for successes, I am ready to face my fears and overcome the challenges that life will bring.
