Houston High School Reviews
Rating 3.27 out of 5 26 reviews
My years at Houston High School were ones I will never forget. I am going into my senior year and I have been at Houston since kindergarten. The teachers at Houston are very helpful and always doing what is best for their students. Education is held at a high standard and each student gets the attention and learning they need. There are also many activities that occur at Houston, however, I feel that as kids get older the less activities there are to do at the school. I also wish Houston had a football team because that would earn our school extra money, and bring the community together through games and more. These, however, are minor things and do not change the overall picture of the school. Houston High School has put me on a good path for the future and they are always thinking about what is best for the community and the students which makes it an amazing school for all ages.
Most teachers are really nice. It is a very small school which makes it great for being close with people, especially the staff.
Lacking in culture, diversity, and academics. A rural atmosphere with limited availability for growth and public funding is mainly responsible. Poor college preparedness; fails to unlock the potential of many students. The math department fails to meet the needs of students wishing to pursue math based college programs. Not many options for advanced classes. Athletics seem to take precedent over academics.
