Houston County High School Reviews
Rating 3.4 out of 5 60 reviews
Houston County High School is the rare rural school that genuinely tries to assist its students in any way possible. The school, despite its small size, hosts dozens of clubs and sports, has teachers that care for their students, and has a community surrounding it that supports it. It needs more funding in some areas, but all schools struggle with those problems; HCHS knows how to overcome it.
Houston County High School really cares about the students well being. They have fun activities and classes that fully emerge the students into, and there is never a dull moment. The environment is friendly and we even get rewarded on holidays by getting to do fun things and sometimes even walking through the school getting candy for Halloween or Christmas.
I went to another school for my first three years of High School that was in the heart of a big city and had over 3,000 students. Moving to Houston County was a huge culture shock for me. Integrating into the school was difficult, everyone having already known each other for years. The people were somewhat welcoming, but ultimately my least favorite year of high school was my senior year.
