I love the art department! The teachers are amazing and I could not have asked for nicer people! The only thing I did not like was the flights of stairs.
My experience at Horton High School has been like most other experiences in high school. I think that high school really shapes you into your true self. You find your real friends, of course right after you realize who the fake ones are. You go through heart break and pain, but what means more than that is the memories you make. Here at HHS, the teachers are very welcoming and friendly. The teachers make you feel at home. Although there have been a lot of unfortunate accidents in the school environment over the years across the country, our teachers make sure we feel safe. We are provided with technology that keeps us safe and feel comfortable. This includes; cameras, door armor, and video phones to voice in visitors and staff/students. Teachers work experience ranges from first-timers to over 30 years. Most of the students here are very nice and welcome other students with open arms. I couldn't imagine growing up anywhere else, and I wouldn't want to.
I would like to see a change in the "no bullying" policy. It is not taken as seriously as it needs to be. It is not a joke it should not be swept under the rug. There needs to be consequences.
I liked the teachers at the school. Most of them were very nice and I could always tell they wanted me to succeed.
Horton High has taught me a lot. I have made some life long friends and I will always be thankful for that!
My school experience was a bit different. I was a loner and never really cared much for my time there.
This next year, our school is bringing in a few new coaches to better our sports programs which is a good change that has been needed for an extended period of time.
Great one on one time with the teachers. The teachers try there best to help you graduate as much as they can.
The biggest change I would love to see at Horton High School is to fix what outsiders think of our school. They look down upon us, for no reason other than the name.
I love that the teachers all want you to succeed. If you are having trouble with something they notice and will take you aside and help you or ask you what you need. I’m never afraid to ask questions. Everyone knows everyone.
They need to announce activities better, it feels like you find out about them last minute. The school food is not great, and second lunch the food is usually cold. But I love how everyone tries to help each other.
Horton High School is a very good school with great student - teacher relations. The ratio is very close and makes it very easy to get the help when you need it. The teachers take time out of their day before and after school to help anyone that needs it. If you are a junior or a senior the teachers will treat you more like a college student.
Horton High School is a good high school. I'm not going to say it's the best because it's not. But I'll tell you what if you go to horton. You are a senior or a junior at horton high. The teachers will start treating you like college students. They will grade your papers harder. They will talk to you more like college students.
Most attend kansas state university or university of Kansas or baker university
I liked the options available
There was a few teachers that I favored. The reson why is because they actually stayed after school to help with studying and extra credit.
One sport my high school did not have available was softball. This was my favorite sport. I do think that there was a lot of fitness opportunities here at this school, but I went more towards the artistic side of the school.
