My High School experience has gone by much faster than I would have thought it would. Throughout my first three years here, I am very content with my school. I am in the advanced placement and GT programs, and every opportunity given to me has grown and motivated me in different ways. Inevitably, there are some minor complaints, and my only one would have to be the amount of students attending compared to the size of the school. There are (I believe) 3,000+ students attending and it seems difficult to get around the school at times. Other than that, the teachers, staff, and academics are challenging but very beneficial!

As I walked in through the main entrance of Dr. John D. Horn High School, I was a 13 year old boy, confused about life, my passion, and purpose of being a student. Now that I am a Senior, ready and excited to graduate, I have learned so much of who I am and what I aspire to become thanks to the environment I was surrounded in. Horn High School may not be a perfect school, but it gets the job done well! Over the years I have seen the school improve so much; Horn is focusing on building a community with its students and ensuring everyone is on track and getting the things they need to be successful.

Most encounters I have had with teachers have been pleasantly friendly. Teachers are a great support system to ensure that the students are not only learning the material, but that they learn life lessons and what we — as students — can do to improve our livelihood.
Walking into John Horn High School, I just like any other 14-year-old freshman feared the transition and had no idea where the next step should be. After finding out the school is full of one robust support system, I can strongly say that Horn High School was great preparation for the future obstacles I will face, with great momentum! I have learned valuable lessons that will benefit each choice I make and I will have the role models to thank for that when I get to where life leads me.
