My overall experience at Horizon Science Academy Southwest Chicago has been a good one. Being here since the 4th grade has allowed me to see the school change for the better. The influence of HSA has made me a much better and understanding person to the world around me.
The staff overall in the school is very unprofessional and unfair. They don't know how to handle serious occasions well they disregard it until it gets really bad but until then they still dont do anything about it.
The school is good, yeah. But it has some gaps of things where it really does not struck out. For example, the community of the students is more unsuitable for certain people. They would normally just go for drama and such and really spread gossip.
Great school, lots of educational opportunities and teachers take time to get to know the students. Class sizes are great so we have a lot of hands on learning and teachers know everyone personally.
okay. average school but it is better than other surrounding schools. its definitely a good school but still average.
Staff are amazing! The administrative assistants are very helpful and kind. A very beautiful and clean school. My son loves his teacher!
Always willing to work with our students and accommodations. Staff is very friendly. The ladies in the office do a great job! They helped me when I needed help with translation. Teachers here take their time and help their students. I recommend this school to all my family and friends.
Love my school! Everyone here is very supportive! Sports are improving every year. They are even planning to renovate their storage area to a family fitness center. They focus on science and technology. Every year they organize a school wide science fair and the winners go to the CONCEF that is organized by Concept Schools where students showcase their knowledge, also they hold STEM-EXPO for demonstrations. HSA Southwest basketball teams is raked up in last 2 years with experience coaches. For high school they offer soccer, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, esports; middle school volleyball, basketball and wrestling. They have Concept Young Scholars mentoring program at this school. Each teacher gets to know their student in a personal level to build relationships to help them show the right way to be a better person for the society.
Nice and clean school to go to. My favorite part it are the teachers, they really make me feel like I matter and connect with us. A lot of parents get involved as well. The school opened up in 2014 and I have watched it grow better and better each year since I've gone there.
What I like about the school that I attend is the teachers, the people there, the sports I join into, and more. This school is a great way to have a better eduacation unlike other schools. This is because in other schools they have classes a majority of 30 kids and Horizon has less then 12 per class having the teachers focus on each students weaknesses and strengths. Other then that everybody is usually attending something like a sport or an afterschool program that they like. The teachers are very helpful even when its subjects outside of school. They want the best for each of there students. So I would say its a pretty good school to go to in order to focus and have good grades.
Horizon Science Academy is a great school that helps uslearn and keeps everything organized and in order. The structure of the school and how the staff are is mostly excellent.
Horizon Science Academy Southwest Chicago is a very nice public charter school. The staff are friendly and dedicated to their students. The entire building is bright and colorful and most importantly, safe. The classrooms have a healthy level of learning "noise" and the teachers seem to make learning fun and challenging.
I enjoy the friendly environment Horizon Science Academy staff gives. They are beyond helpful and have shown that they want nothing but success for their students. I also enjoy knowing that students are not discriminated against due to their clothing since the school is a uniform school. They will not be distinguished on their looks but distinguished on their ability and intelligence. They also provide many services for the students such as after school activities, college trips, tutoring, etc.
I loved that the teachers care about the students, while at other schools they just seem to care or not at all. They also have a very welcoming environment.
