Horizon offered me a lot of opportunities and set me up for a lot of things that most schools don’t. Horizon had great teachers, faculty’s staff. The only thing i would change would be the students. The school itself is great.
This school is a great school, if has the best staff and some of the staff. Children would consider their fake moms and be comfortable with going to them for any problems, the only bad things is they don’t go on field trips but overall it’s a 5 star school
One of the best schools in the area, with dedicated teachers, and so many activities indoor and outdoor.
hav a lot of cysp stuff and after school program food could be better and the teachers and staff are great im very proud of what this school have become also they do say yes to Cleveland which alot of school dont and they add a new class could career exploration that use VR to help find a good career and help prepare for the career.
My child has been going to Horizon since grade school. He was there up until their transitions, but he went back for high school.
College prep program is great in this school. They are also encouraging students to enroll in CCP program.
I did not enjoy my years at HSAS. I would not recommend to go here if you want a full out high school experience with sports, arts, great clubs etc. and if you want lunch/breakfast pack your own or don’t eat because the food os terrible.
Overall horizon was a good experience but as an alumni going to to big college university I feel like the education received at horizon was not an education that prepared me to be the most successful in college. It was partially the fact that we had multiple teachers for a single glass. This happen more than one time. The education level that other schools give is overall higher education and more challenging.
I feel like the staff truly cares about the students well being and success. Teenagers' of this generation struggle with so many outside factors. I feel that the school does it's best to encourage these students to be the best they can inside and outside the classroom while overcoming life hurdles.
The Teachers have a very nice and understanding way of teaching lessons. But on the other hand the teachers are also very strict and dont give the students any form of freedom, the Deans are also very strict giving very little freedom to students when it comes to socializing with other students
I attended Horizon, and graduated in 2018. Overall I do not feel like the academics at Horizon prepared me for college. Moreover I would recommend they improve on what the students are learning overall.
I liked the fact that the teachers a cool with everyone and the education there. I just wished that there was more sports available and that the school was bigger for track and soccer. I also wish that the school lunch was better. However, I like the fact that our school have a program such as CYSP, which people get rewarded for completing activities like Physical fitness, reading, and community service. Something that one might not consider during their free time but with this program help them considering it.
What I liked about Horizon was its challenge. It offered many courses that were Honors, AP, and even allowed for Dual Enrollment. However, the school itself wasn't very safe due to tight circular "hallways," inconsistent rules and regulations that we're almost never followed, terrible school lunches, and a horrible primary focus of looking good as a school instead of actually caring about its students.
I have had a good four years at Horizon. I was a part of many great extracurricular activities such as the science fair team and science olympiad in which I made many incredible memories. I also have had some incredible teachers who I will forever remember. Overall, I will miss Horizon.
I like horizon because it’s a school that changes you and make you realize when it’s time to get serious even though you can still have fun. It might be ups and downs their but everybody get what they needs done done and the teachers also helps with that
From grade 9 to Grade 12, I have been a proud student at Horizon Science Academy. My experience at Horizon was terrific. Attending HSA has open various opportunities to further my education and career. At HSA, I've created strong bonds with my teachers and fellow schoolmates that has made my high school experience memorable. Although Horizon has many amazing qualities, the school as a whole could improve on school spirit. In my experience, when students are happy to go to school, they are more eager to learn.
As of the year 2020 I will be a college student and I owe a big thanks to Horizon. Horizon has provided not only great academics and resources, but also prepare students for the best life after high school. Form great academic resources, great programs, and efforts on college readiness horizon is the place to be.
I would say that this school is excellent for teaching, but the classmates sometimes act up and ruin things for everyone. If you can, try to sit in the front of the classroom. The teachers are nice and will not hesitate to help you if you need help with anything.
It was very easy and straight forward without any delay and also it relates to what mostly all high school have in common
i’ve been going to horizon science academy cleveland since i was a freshman i am now a senior and now things have really changed it’s not what it used to be but it is s good school
