I really enjoyed the size, chapels, athletics, teachers' relationships with students, school trips over spring break, and dual credit classes available! However, I feel like having a school counselor being hired and at least two coaches for each sports team would help the students with their mental health through high school, as well as their spiritual health.
Horizon does a great job fostering a community where every student can feel like they belong and are cared for by the teachers. I worked on ASB at this school and a large part of the focus when planning events was asking how can we (1) connect the student body and (2) give the students who may often feel over looked the chance to show what they are good at.
Personally as a student I love it when the Bible is inserted into absolutely everything, nut at horizon the curriculum often did not talk about the Bible or faith at all. Many people would probably appreciate that, but for me it was something I missed from the school I had transferred from before Horizon. So while the christian aspect does not come in very much in curriculum it does show in teacher student interactions as the teacher's aim to exemplify Christ like behavior with their students. The school is not exclusively christian and most of my non-christian friends felt very welcome in the environment.

Horizon Christian High School is an amazing school that focuses on preparing the students for college by offering many dual credit classes which can allow you to start college as a sophomore if you take most of the college classes they offer! They also help prepare students for the real world experiences by acknowledging who they are and that they're worth something at the school. Overall, the teachers are there to fully help and you have a close relationship with them. The community of Horizon is very welcoming and choosing Horizon is a great decision for education.
