Some of the best parts of Furness were the people -- that is, the students and teachers. Furness is a school that prides itself on diversity, and that shows in its demographics: a wonderful collection of Asians, Africans, Latinos, etc. It should be obvious then, that there is significant potential for dialogue, for learning about these different cultures. The teachers were usually wonderful as well -- passionate, understanding, empathetic people who strive to help you understand whatever you ask them.
Unfortunately, Furness is underfunded, and the effects of that hideous rot show everywhere -- the food, the lesson materials, even in basic equipment like heaters and air conditioners! All of them are poor, and student morale suffers for it. A shame in my opinion, for Furness has much potential, but it is handicapped with shattered knees and ankles. How is it possible to run, when you cannot walk?

If you’re an immigrant, it’s nice to go to school here. The teachers will help you with your English.
I identify myself as a "hardworking" student so I talked to my teachers a lot. Many of those responsible teachers in furness told me, most students in furness are lazy in general and they have nothing to do with that because they just couldn't fail most students in their class. that makes students who wanna learn things easier to get a very high GPA but they also realized they actually didn't learn anything they expected. For these hardworking students, studying in Furness is 100% about learning how to self learning. I have a very high GPA and SAT scores also got some awards in the city of Philadelphia but that was all because I do everything, work on everything, research everything on my own. If you let some responsible teachers know that you are different from most lazy students and they will be so nice and so helpful because they all wish you to be best, to own those opportunities you deserve. be responsible for yourself, talk to your teacher, you'll be fine.
A lot of the teachers care about there students and mr.peou is an amazing principal and staff care about students not only about school life but about life in general. they helped me so much. i will miss that school so much.me and alot of my classmates strongly recommend this school.
A lot of people assume that Furness High school is a bad public school. But, in my opinion all school are the same the teacher take you seriously if you also take the class seriously. If you go to private school I also believe that we still learned the same thing it’s just different environments.
Good experience, have a lot of friendly friends from around the world with different cultures, all the teacher and staff are kind and beautiful people always make sure their students are ok and keep track on everythinh.
It was a great experience there, as long as you try hard, there's nothing that can't be achieved and it's quite competitve.
That was a average experiment in this school, I mean students in this school is just not my type. We rarely have conversations, and the teachers some time are lazy and don't feel like work, not taking serious to the problems. I would 100% say this school is not for learning, you can't learn stuff in this school, me with a 3.82 gpa doesn't mean anything, I still feel I am worst than a 2.5 gpa student in Central high.
In my personal opinion, this school is really unique. It's very diverse, yet everyone hangs around people around their race only. It's very strong in art and music, yet a little weak in academic. However, I like how they still offer students AP classes. I also like how there are counselors, a lot of them, that can actually take care of the students.
I've been going to Furness since I was a Freshman in 2015. My life here has been very "grey". This school is diverse but it is lacking everywhere else, though I can't complain since it is a neighborhood school.
the best school in my opionion it is so yeah the best lol lol lol lol lol best sos s s s s s s s s s s lol s
Coming in as a junior in high school I was a bit nervous, having to start all over and make
New friends and meet new staff members it was something I wasn’t much comfortable with. Walking into th school it was very welcoming, the public safety officers were very nice and the principal was astonishing, he was very opening to hearing about my transfer over to there amazing school and welcomed me in like part of the schools family. Everyone was amazing and well organized

Mr.peou is the best he is the reason I am still alive. The teachers are cool. But the kids the chill. I love this school.
When I attended this school I loved all of my teachers. This school taught me what it took to be a man in society and how to be productive. It was not perfect and everyday was not the same. However, I would not have changed it for the world.
The great thing that I like about this school is that they give their students a lot of support and resources. They keep them moving forward. The one that i will like to see change is the foods are not good, and the bathroom is a little terrible also.
Three years, I spend my time at Furness High School. In my perspective this school is special compare to other public schools, Furness is a home of Immigrant students. Most of the teacher were required to pass an ESL training program, because of these reason our school can't be compared to other public/private school based on academics. Furness is rich of culture, by hosting more than twenty nation origins, which the most diverse high school in Philadelphia, most of the kids in here were bilingual, or even can speak up to five language.
Over all I think Furness is a good school. The teachers pretty nice. There are a lot of activities after school
