It got better after my first 2 years but I liked that the school was pretty supportive of the performing arts! The downside of it was that the bathrooms that I went to were always dirty and sometimes the school didn’t consistently in force rules.
I’ve traveled a lot, going to a multitude of school because of how much we moved, I have not come across a more involved school. The teachers and staff are amazing advocates for the students and assist in so many aspects. One thing I know for sure is they made the transition into college much more simple and understanding; I will be thinking of all of those who helped me and carrying every lesson learned with me through life.
Due to the Covid pandemic in 2020, I was not able to have a "real" high school experience. With this being said, I still enjoyed my time as a student at Hopkinsville High School. My senior year was definitely the best, as cliche as that sounds. With new administration my senior year, more opportunities were given to us as students. While academics are important, having fun is just as important. With the new administration, we were able to have a Pep Club, have more fun in our student section to support the athletes, and go on more field trips. While all of these things are good, there are still things that could be improved. School safety is a problem in our school. This past school year 2 guns were found in our school. In my sophomore year, one went off in a student's backpack by accident. Thankfully, no one was hurt but there are still the what if's.
My experience at Hopkinsville High School has been overall enjoyable because I enjoy the teachers and staff.
My experience has been pretty good. The school is old but other than that it’s not terrible. I am glad I attended.
I currently do the virtual learning program and my experience has been excellent this past school year. The teachers make it easy to learn even without being in person and if you need help with your work they offer tutoring once or twice a month they have in-person days for the students failing any classes and after a certain time period, the other students are allowed to join if they would like so they can socialize.
I have loved all four years of being a Hopkinsville High School Tiger. HHS has set me up for success by allowing me to take exploratory career classes, to participate in AP, Honors, and Dual Credit programs, and to be an active member of many clubs, teams, and organizations. Hopkinsville High School and Christian County Public Schools truly do put their students first and want to see them be successful.
Hopkinsville High School has allowed me to exemplify my skills by pushing me to succeed in all my classes and extracurricular activities. The teachers in the school are very engaged with every student's learning and do their best to make sure no student falls behind. I have definitely had a wonderful experience at this school and it is sad to say I am a Senior graduating in May.
I loved going to high school here, I played two sports so I made many many friends. Going to school in a small town is not for everyone but the family environment makes it all worth it.
I Have gone all four years at the school. The growth that the staff of the building has gone through is very impressive, but they still have their moments. I have seen both ends of staff members having no power to control power to almost abusive levels. The way the teachers have made me feel welcomed and sometimes a burden in the classroom. How the front office staff have welcomed all students but shunned other students. It is a welcoming place but it has its moment where it is clear they are just there for a check.
the teachers here do not know really how to teach, the school leaked for 3 years and the administration does not care about the kids
I think that this school was decent. Some classes teachers were involved more than others, but students and faculty's overall experience and support were average.
I think this has been an overall average high school. It’s done most of what it has had to do! My favorite part is the people I’ve met and how quickly friends found me. I think that this place just doesn’t have anything particularly special or appealing about it. Clearly, as it will be renewed, there will be a clean slate.
I like my school because teacher really do care about students education and they open many opportunities for students to prepare them for the future, however the school is in and has been in a poor state for a while. The ceilings leak constantly and no matter what is done to fix them the continue to leak. This issue causes distractions in the classroom for some students making it harder to learn.
Didn't always prepare me for the future. The school building is falling apart and the academics are average at best.
Great caring teachers! Band program is excellent! The school needs a new building, but had an overall good experience
I like the friends that I've made in high school but that doesn't say much about the classes. I think the teaching process could be improved by making the curriculum more straight forward because teachers stray from what they are actually supposed to teach in depth and what they are supposed to touch on.
