As a student at Hopkins High School, I have grown to be highly disappointed in the school's environment. I find that the teachers are biased sometimes towards race and other times through favoritism, which I feel is not only unprofessional but unfair. There have been numerous disagreements between students and staff, leading to students feeling silenced and invalidated. The lack of community in the building is difficult to establish due to the standoffish and intense environment. Communication is also poor, with the minorest of information, like a school event, or major issues, like school threats, going unaddressed until the day of the event. While not everything is bad, there is still much work to be done, and it must start with communication. With a better communication system, Hopkins High School could be a 5-star school, but communication is the biggest deterrent holding them back. Overall Hopkins is bearable, in the few moments of unity i'm reminded that it could always be worse.
I think that Hopkins Senior High School is full of bright teachers and a diverse population of students. This is something that I valued very much because I was able to learn about many different cultural backgrounds while still receiving a high-level education.
It was very easy to make friends and most of the teachers were very nice, understanding, and actually good at teaching. Administration was less than satisfactory and it was obvious they had their own agenda and politics very different from what students and staff wanted and advocated for.
It’s very diverse and inclusive for all communities. I felt safe at that school and became with lots of students and teachers!
Overall, I would say that my experience at Hopkins High School was pretty good. I unfortunately didn’t really get a full high school experience, as my sophomore year was impacted as a result of Covid. Aside from that, throughout my junior and senior year, I felt as though my teachers actually cared about me and my success. They were always willing to help, no matter the circumstance. One thing that I would like to see change is how administration chooses to prioritize issues inside the school. There were definitely times throughout my experience where some less serious issues were prioritized over the more serious ones. But other than that, my high school experience was pretty good.
They provide a wide range of opportunities and academics. They believe in making all their students well rounded people and genuinely care each and every scholar.
The school is very diverse. And people are good there for the most part. The best part about this school is that even though the campus is big. It's easy to navigate.
What I like the most about Hopkins Senior High School is its educational system. I admire the way that one semester's work there is equivalent to a whole year's work. What I do not like is their closed door policy, where they do not allow students in at least 30 minutes before school starts. This is a very annoying policy, especially for students who's parents start work very early and have to drop their children at school.
I've been in the Hopkins school district my entire life. I believe that there are many pros and cons to going here. there isn't a very good relationship with the staff, here it constantly feels like a versus match, students don't feel listened to, etc. On the other hand, the education that you can get here is adequate. There are many options when it comes to education style and the styles have the potential to make every student excel.
Hopkins High School has very caring and talented teachers. The facilities and resources are nice. The school is diverse and embraces different cultures.
School is currently lacking in school pride. The administration is below average, however, the teachers are amazing, really care about the students and their education.
Academics are standard, pretty average compared to schools around us. I am mostly concerned about safety at our school. We have a lot of fights, and I don't believe administration has strict enough punishments for the students involved. However, I don't know what goes on behind the scenes. Something I do like about my school is that we have great diversity and everyone is very accepting. I think there is a strong sense of community at our school. If someone sees something going wrong, they'll speak out about it. I do think that the people working in our building are very open to listening to students, and actually care about them. The adults at our school want us to do well, it's just that some students don't want help, so we get a bad rep.
I enjoyed my Junior year of Hopkins high school because of my principal and vice principal it was very enjoyable had many good memories met a lot of new people.
I really loved the connections I made with staff and how they truly care about the students. We had the opportunities to speak on things within the school and changes we wanted to see. The community was fantastic and I will miss it so much.
It doesn't do much to prepare you for college. This past year there were a ton of fights and police involvement. It has calmed down and is a decent place to go to school.
I like the support that I get from my teachers, counselor, and administration. They help me stay focused and want me to succeed in life.
Hopkins Senior High School really made sure every scholar had a home when it came down to coming to school. Culture is very important to this school in order for everyone to fit in. I always felt safe and welcomed coming to school every morning. Hopkins strives to do the best education wise and they really do provide for their students. If you attend this high school you will receive a wonderful education!
