Though within the student body, there is, to varying degrees, levels of toxicity, this is the case with every high school. This is notably contrasted by the sense of community that HCCHS provides, and the family-like connections that the staff and faculty regularly make with students. Several teachers maintain an appropriately personal relationship with students to the level that they learn to recognise when students have any kind of personal troubles. The staff are always willing to act as counsel for their students, whether it be relationship issues, personal issues, careers, mental health, or any other issue. And regardless of their ability to help, the staff guide students to incredible resources to help them when the school falls short. HCCHS provides such a strong sense of family, it feels like a family reunion more often than not. Even through strife between students and some students' disdain for staff, as with any high school, HCCHS stands as a beacon of community values.
HCCHS is an amazing school. They offer many different fields of study that prepare each student to be college and career ready. All of the teachers are involved in helping the students excel in their class. The teachers work together to ensure a safe learning environment. The counselors are always ready to listen and help the study with their schedules and mental & emotional needs! I´ve never gone to a better school. When I was going through my health issues with epilepsy, every teacher and counselor was there for me until I got my health under control!
Hopkins County Central High School is an average school. There are some teachers that seem to really care about their job, but there are others that do not care what the students do. There was a lot of bullying that never seemed to be handled. They did offer good academic experiences. I was able to take college courses while attending Central. I was also able to participate in a co-op program that let me go to work during the school day. The clubs at this school were always fun and exciting. This school was hardly diverse in any way. When I graduated from Central I felt slightly prepared for college.
