Hopkins County Central has given me the most amazing high school experience anyone could ask for. The staff strives to create a positive environment for all and they definitely do! There are dozens of extracurricular activities available to give everyone a chance to feel as though they're a part of something. Kindness radiates through this building. This is not just a school, it is a safe place for many. I will forever be a Storm Chaser!
Though within the student body, there is, to varying degrees, levels of toxicity, this is the case with every high school. This is notably contrasted by the sense of community that HCCHS provides, and the family-like connections that the staff and faculty regularly make with students. Several teachers maintain an appropriately personal relationship with students to the level that they learn to recognise when students have any kind of personal troubles. The staff are always willing to act as counsel for their students, whether it be relationship issues, personal issues, careers, mental health, or any other issue. And regardless of their ability to help, the staff guide students to incredible resources to help them when the school falls short. HCCHS provides such a strong sense of family, it feels like a family reunion more often than not. Even through strife between students and some students' disdain for staff, as with any high school, HCCHS stands as a beacon of community values.
Hopkins County Central High School has a variety of students that attend there . Everyone has there own group of cliques but then again everyone associates with everyone because more than likely they all went to school together since kindergarten or pre-school. These past years have been very difficult on the students because of Covid-19, which meant a lot of us never got a good high school experience attending ball games, or prom or just not getting to socialize with our friends. That caused a lot of students to become extremely depressed having to sit home when majority of the time school was their safe place away from home , thats how its always been for me at least . But Hopkins County Central has some of the kindness, involving, selfless teachers around who will actually take the time out of their day and make sure you understand any problem or obstacle you are facing . Some will even treat you like there own child and create a bond with you that will last even after high school.
