Hopewell Valley Central High School in my opinion was the most "okay" school experience I think I will ever have, it is a school that is predominantly white, and a school that favors those who excel in academics, music and sports, and leaves kids who are average to fend for themselves and doesn't offer much to them. It is a school that is rampant with toxic bullying and is run by a school that does little to nothing about it. The school preaches anti bullying, but when a case is brought to their attention, they don't do anything to stop it. The students there are inconsiderate and entitled. The building during the 4 years I attended was terrible, with many rooms lacking air conditioning. As for teachers, there were a few gems sprinkled in there and I have a couple that I will remember forever, but there are others who play favorites with their students and will offer more help to those who get better grades.

Academically, Hopewell has a fantastic curriculum, where the teachers are always challenging the students to push boundaries. Also, I always feel supported by the staff whenever I need extra help in certain areas. I feel that when I go to college, I will be ready for any assignments given by professors. The food is pretty good, it's about as good as school food can get. The one major issue that I have with the school is that there is very little diversity. While it is not the fault of the teachers, staff, and students, it's important to provide all students, regardless of economic background, ethnicity, and gender with equal opportunities. I recognize how privileged that I am to be able to go to such a highly ranked school, and I believe everyone deserves that same opportunity.
HVCHS has pretty good access to resources but there are definitely some problems with it. First of all, they decided to spend money to build a new gym (when we already had 2) instead of adding more AC or fixing the terrible lockers in part of the 300 hall. Also, students are often not punished appropriately for the casual racist language and opinions they throw around.
