My son went to Hoover for stem program in the summer 2021. He liked the school and made some friends and got to know high school teachers. He liked the school dress code such as navy jean. The kids and the teachers were nice to him. It is safe place and quiet.
I noticed while visiting the school there was an ambulance picking up a kid with a broken leg and in the background there was a small fist fight. Another time I visited there was students fighting in the soccer field. There's a lot of violence and its not safe overall.
My time at Hoover Midlde school was great. All the teachers were friendly and the school was in a safe area. One thing that they should add more of is clubs and sports. Another thing that they could use some improvement on is getting you prepared for AP classes in high school. Overall, Hoover Middle School is a great school and I enjoyed the time I spent learning there.
Hoover Middle School was a great experience that helped me grow greatly. It allowed me much freedom, coming from elementary and gave me the opportunity to pursue my interests. In addition, it does a good job of preparing students for high school.
Well we are fans of some of the teachers. Mrs. McClellan really stands out. As a resource teacher she exhibited kindness, passion and patience with our son--and other students. Even when we were not hearing from the administration as much as we would have liked, she volunteered to keep us informed of our student's progress. In a short amount of time, he made great strides and even won some awards in his final days of 8th grade. No child is perfect. And it's tough for new kids or kids with disabilities or other struggles. A great school will keep fighters like Mrs. McClellan around.
Some other great and caring teachers include Mr. Yearwood, Mr. Crabtree, Mr. Widman and Mr. Crockett.
The campus is neat, and in a nice area too, which sets it apart from some of the other schools in the district
