Hoover High School offers so much for college readiness, which really prepared me. It’s located conveniently next to Walsh University, Kent State Stark, and Stark State colleges, which makes post secondary very easy and possible. They also offer tons of AP classes and CCP classes at the school as well. The community is very safe, and there is a club for everyone here. The teachers are also phenomenal. HHS is a great place to learn!

Hoover High School offers curriculum, clubs, and activities for everyone. It is a great place to go to school because it is large enough to have a lot of experiences and meet many new people, but it is not so large that the sense of community is lost. The environment and culture of Hoover High School is one of high standards but there are also many levels of support to help students reach their goals. Hoover does a great job of preparing you for the next step in your life. I will be graduate feeling prepared for the rigor and independence of college, in addition to taking with me the many great memories that were made in class, at sporting events and extra curricular activities.
There is a wide range of classes available at Hoover and through the connections it has to other high schools and colleges. There is some pressure to take advanced classes, both from students and staff, as taking advanced classes is seen as a way to prove that you're "smart." Some students don't feel valued by the administration, likely because there's little formal communication between the two groups. Most of the teachers are pretty nice, but there are definitely a few that are surviving on tenure alone.
The building itself is not in great condition and needs some repairs, but the middle school, which is decades older than the high school building, will be prioritized for repairs. Heating issues are not uncommon in the older areas of the school building, and you bounce between sweltering heat and freezing cold in the winter. Overall, I'd say Hoover is a good high school with a few unfortunate details.
