My experience at Hoover High School has been very short as I am limited to reflection of my senior year. The academics here are very in depth and some of our teachers are very dedicated, going above and beyond their call to duty. Our athletic teams are very competitive and always fun to watch. I have thoroughly enjoyed the arts here at Hoover, as we are one of the few schools in the area that still has an orchestra. The theater productions just put on Grease the musical and it was phenomenal. You could tell how much time and effort the kids and staff put in and how much everyone cared. The lunches are pretty mediocre, but walking tacos and Asian fusion days are always my favorite. I like that we have multiple options in case you don't like what's on the menu that day. Most of the staff are nice and are willing to help you out, even if you aren't in one of their classes. Overall, I have a pretty positive experience to reflect back to upon graduation!
Hoover High School is an excellent learning environment that offers plenty of extracurriculars, some of which are uncommon among high schools in which I participate. Personally, I have found the majority of my teachers to be extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and capable to teach and provide the proper atmosphere to learn. However, there have been some teachers whom many students dislike. Between my own experiences and the experiences of others, there seems to be a difference in both capability and professionalism between teachers of standard courses and teachers of more advanced courses. In fact, some teachers are either so incompetent or so dismissive that students go to other, more advanced, teachers for help.
Hoover High definitely struggles with diversity; it is a white-dominated school. Despite this, I do not believe that Hoover High is a racist environment. Some problems concerning racist activity have been reported, but they must be few and far between as I do not see them.

Having gone through the Hoover High School all four years, I have gotten close with how the system works. All of the students and staff are close and will be for years to come after taking their class. It is a ver close environment to be in and a very welcoming one too! All students from any grade get close and spend time with each other which makes adds to the diversity of the school as well!
