I loved school here. It is a small community so knowing everyone was really nice. Unfortunately because of COVID-19 I missed out on half of my junior and some of my senior year. The teachers are really nice and caring they are willing to do anything for their students. The administration definitely needs some help with the account of bullying but that’s in every school. Overall if I could go back and do high school all over again i would still choose Hoosick Falls.
The students yell the n word and the f slur in the hallway without punishment and I think I’ve gotten coherently dumber (idek what coherently means I hope I’m using it right) since I moved here in fifth grade. It’s not because all the teachers are bad, it’s because a lot of them are bad. I have made some halfway decent friends (all of which agree with me on this topic) from drama club, which is one of the few good things about this school. That and band. Elementary band and chorus wasn’t bad either but maybe I’m just a band and theater kid. Two stars from me :)
At Hoosick Falls Junior/Senior High School we have a great faculty that is very involved with the student body. Almost every student can relate to our teachers on a personal level. Our administrators do all that they can to help us with our academics and even things involving our personal lives to help us better our education and grow as a person.
Hoosick Falls has some advantages and disadvantages. It’s a small school so everyone kinds each other and can get one on one help if needed.
They had excellent opportunities to get college credits which will allow me to save money and graduate an entire year early with a bachelors degree.
Most of the teachers are easily approachable and genuinely care about their students' success and feelings. However, there are a select few that are rude to their students, are inconsistent with their teaching and grading methods, and don't seem to care about their students' individual needs.
The school spirit of all the students and the town is very great.
The food services are good here and there are many different choices.
All school staff are actively involved with everything.
the teachers are all very supportive
Our school provides us students with numerous AP courses and college opportunities. If a student is willing to work hard enough here at HFCS then they can attend any college or trade school in the world, both academically and athletically. The guidance counselors help us obtain local, state, and national scholarships that will pay for the advancement of our education. If you need help with anything regarding your grades, athletic development and performance, or even an issue at home, you can rely on the family here. No matter what it takes, you will achieve your goals during and after your time at this school. Their are no restrictions only more opportunities to grow.
On an additional note, our bus drivers are like our friends.

Lunch here at HFCS is more like a dining experience The options in our cafeteria are well rounded and are of high quality. We possess both a cold and hot line where the food ranges from a hamburger to a bread bowl to a parfait . The lunch ladies ( including my mother lol ) are very friendly and are a part of the family here at school. if you can't afford lunch then you eat for free, its that simple. The elementary has adopted our system of lunch ID codes and has allowed the time of obtaining lunch to be cut in half. Once you have your lunch, you can enjoy it while watching t.v on our flat screens located on either side of the lunch room.
Our courses range from 2 year math assistance courses to college level courses such as physics, bio, calculus/ ap calc, personal fiance, and business math. We also offer other AP courses in Science, English, and History. If you need help, you will have it from both student and teacher tutors; as well as time spent before, during, and after the school day with the same teachers that teach your courses. Every student has the opportunity to possess a 4.0 GPA and experience any academic passion that they choose. The work may be tough but it definitely pays off. Personally my math teacher does the same assignment that he assigns to us,the night before. Our teachers will never leave you feeling confused and unsure of how to do an assignment. They will always provide you with whatever assistance that you require.
The police have been more prominent in recent years. They visit the school and try to make a less awkward presence for themselves. Although they are too often called for low level mistakes made here, they aren't an issue. Preventing and stopping bullying on all levels has been a priority for our school for years. I have personally solved a few matters and have seen teachers do the same. Our nurse is relatively able to solve our medical problems but sometimes further aid is required. Our school is safe and continues to become better every day. We have had a few disputes but they were handled promptly.
At this school being bi, gay, and lesbian is a cool thing. I personally have friends from just about every single category. Our teachers support of decisions and offer assistance if any bullying were to occur. Our student body feels strongly about protecting others and their rights here. There are situations where peer pressure occurs, but it is not allowed here. If you want to participate than you can and if you don't then you can merely walk away. We as students aid our peers in their journey of development and growth.
Hoosick Falls provides you with any opportunity that you can imagine. If you love something, we will find a way to make it happen.
Simply speaking, Hoosick Falls represents the truth about hard work dominating all challenges.
Just Love what you do here and be Proud when you do it.

Overall, the entire administration is well rounded. Although they will listen and discuss a matter with a student, they often choose the wrong disciplinary action. Students are too often suspended and have their educations negatively affected for ridiculous reason. Our student body is safe and the officials are relatively fair, but they need to reconsider what they view as just punishment.
