Hooks High School Reviews
Rating 3.85 out of 5 48 reviews
My best experience in Hooks High School was that is was small, allowing the students to build bonds with each other and allowing us to interact with the teachers and ask questions we desperately needed in their classes.
My worst part of Hooks High School is how, since the school is so small, drama spreads like wildfire, and it is hard to avoid it all.
For change, I would like to see Hooks High School put more funds in activities such as UIL and Band, since they prioritize all their money towards all the sport teams.

Hooks is a great place to raise a family, live and go to school. The housing is limited which has kept the school from exploding which is a good thing. The staff works well together to make sure students are able to participate in all activities. Football players and cheerleaders play in the band at halftime / Ag, Athletics, band and all the clubs work around one another so that kids can participate in everything and be successful in everything. All the sports teams are competitive as football has won 3 district championships in 4 years, and all sports made the playoff and all outside of football won 20 or more games. Band usually gets all 1’s and Ag is always successful at all events. Hooks also placed 1st in UIL academics this past year. I am very proud to be a Hooks Alum and as most will tell you: once a Hornet always a Hornet. If you like extracurriculars and you are looking for a smaller to medium size school so you can be in multiple activities, you have found it.
I think this is a great school, and I believe that it will become even better. For a smaller school, it had many opportunities available and very supportive teachers. Additionally, this school offers many Dual Credit courses to help its high school students get college credit at a much more affordable price.
