Hood Canal Elementary/Junior High School Reviews

I enjoy the Native American environment. The staff care about the students. I would like to see more Native American staff. I would like more sport choices for the students. There should be an art program open to students of all ages. There definitely needs to be more assemblies at Hood Canal School. The student always enjoy that. Another event that has faded over the years is show and tell. Overall Hood Canal staff does a remarkable job with the funds available to us. The one thing we lack funding for....that I find tragic is ... field trips which are a fun and essential part of learning. They can leave a lasting impression and sometimes can be an event that a student may otherwise not experience. Washington state and all states should put more funding into the education of our children. After all, they are our future.
When I went there, everything was so systematic. No support. A teacher hit me in the head w a big text book and nothing was done.. This same teacher call my son a moron in front if his who class, my son has a learning disabilities.thank god he is retired. My 12 year old son, i have been trying to get him services since 2nd grade. The administration don't want children on IEPs even if they need it.. Its a school that pushes your children through. they don't care if you child is failing or having a hard time. They did get a lot of new teachers, I still feel the administration has the good old boy mentality. The are not great w culture either for be smack dab in the middle of a Native American Reservation. They need to get rid if Sean B. He is the superintendent. All he does is politician you around w lip service.. Tells you want you want to hear w no action. The 21st centry program is great.. Lisa queen us amazing.. And office staff is always great.. Mrs. Jay is amazing.
