I had a great educational experience at Hononegah. I had my ups and downs throughout my high school career, but I had a great support of friends and teachers who cared about me. There were so many ways to get involved with student activities and further my leadership abilities by taking on different tasks. The band room became my home and where I felt the most accepted by all my fellow musicians.

If I had to change something about Hononegah, it would be just the way that students feel accepted and how administration deals with bullying. I think there should be a system in place to help students (especially underclassmen) find friends and have an upperclassmen be there for them as they begin to navigate high school. I think they should also add more storage so that certain equipment isn't stored in the hallways.

Overall, I had the best four years of my life at Hononegah and I wouldn't change a thing!

This school district is a bit of a joke. The school earns great scores on greatschools.org because their students test well. They do provide multiple opportunities for AP classes and preparing students for college; however, the majority of its funding goes toward sports, not academics. The administration and faculty care more about how many "clubs" & "sports" their students are in then with real life experiences or having their students participate in worth while causes. The administration is all about political agendas. If you put your student in this school, make sure you are wealthy or are good friends with someone on staff because that is the only way your student will have a leg up. The varsity baseball coach is entirely unprofessional and makes terrible decisions and should have been removed a long time ago; but again...because of political agendas, he's not and the baseball players absolutely despise him. Good luck!
I’ve been apart of the Rockton school district my whole life and attended Hononegah all 4 years. I had teachers that I absolutely love (manly the history department) and teachers not so much in some areas of the school teachers picked favorites and praised honors and AP students. Also funding goes towards a lot of male dominated sports (mostly football) even though both the dance cheer team and I believe girls soccer went to state. Also many of the coaches only play certain players which doesn’t help all players to grow. It’s high school a time to have fun! It also wasn’t an open campus which made senior year a struggle to get through knowing I was so close to independence! All that aside I did meet so many amazing people, people I’m still friends with to this day. Hononegah helped me prepare academically for a big 10 school. Although they could work on talking about the financial aspect of college.... I loved the school dances and really did enjoy high school
