Honoka'a High & Intermediate School Reviews

Honokaa High was a very poor school, seen as lesser than others on Big Island, Hawaii. There were occasional school fights and constant drama between students. But, besides that, Honokaa felt very comfortable for many people, including myself. I socialized and made my lifelong friends that I appreciate everyday. I have been attending Honokaa’s school for my whole life. With moving to new places almost every day in elementary school, coming back to Honokaa felt like coming back home. That is why, now that I am in high school, I still feel like I am going to a place where I feel the utmost comfortable and at home.
I became a dragon in 3rd grade. At first, it didn't really impact me as much, but as soon as I started realizing and actually taking in the what becoming a dragon was.
Honokaa High And Intermediate school is what the word "diversity" all about. You could be white, people of color, asian, micronesian, portugeese, and many many more. I remember when I first move into this school being in first grade not knowing any english and only ilocano. There was this angel of a teacher who was with me every second of the way, She thought me the words i know today, and even sometimes I tought them some words from my country back. She made me feel at home, and I wouldnt be the person i would be right now without her.
I skip lunch pretty much everyday and now I'm skinny Jimmy. The 1 star is for my friends bc if I had none there I would wring myself out like a towel. I meann this is a gen z point of view so um yeah. Ngl some of the teachers scare me bc they would LITERALLY nah jk they wouldn't but some give me vibes that they would chase you down if you didn't do the hw. The real haole teachers, they're straight up irritating. They treat you like you're a nun in a church. No offense to the nuns reading this but haole teachers are not it. The local teachers are just chillin ngl. Haole teachers talk slow and are very much shocked if you say "what the hell" or "sup brah/aunty" bc they want you to say something like "hello ma'am" or "oh my" but I ain't no mainland kid. Also some kids over there are fake. And they act like "I neva bully no body" when "yes you sure did bc I watched you do it to some of the kids here" and the teachers are like "omg you're such an angel" like teachers pet kine.
Honokaa is a really good school. It is small so it has a good teacher to student ratio. The students are really accepting and kind. We don't have much city around us. We are a little cute town but we are definitely a really good family.
When it comes to Honoka'a High, during the time I have attended, I have grew to love it as well as come up with some things I wish to change about the school. Some of which being that I love the environment and and family feel that is given from the time I step foot onto campus to the time leave campus. But with the positives of this school there are a few things I would like to be changed about his school and some examples being, the adoption to more student sports/activities and academics. This being because when I first transferred to this school I was quite disappointed to find out that sports like bowling, canoe paddling, and JROTC and academic programs like AVID were not provided in my school. But aside from that, my school is an amazing school that I feel would be a good fit for all.
I loved that I meet some really great friends their. I also loved that I had some really supportive teachers that I could go to when I needed anything.
I have been in Honoka’a High And Intermediate School since seventh grade. It’s a good school, there are many activities that the schools leadership team puts together, which I’m in. There’s many assemblies throughout the year that try to include all of the students in games and giveaways. It has a lot of good electives and classes that can help you get college credit. I feel like there should be more college classes, even if they were online. I also feel like there should be more opportunities for internships or participating in activities that others are more interested in career-wise.
I liked the involvement that the teachers and administration had with students, and I always loved the school spirit.
During my high school years, I was a part of many different activities and clubs that were offered at the school. I really enjoyed having the music program, however, I would have liked if we had upgraded some of our equi[tment and technologies.
Honoka'a High School is a small school with about 800-900 students. What I like about this school are the teachers and the Grammy Award Winning Jazz Band. The teachers in this school are really influential and great at teaching. They are always willing to give up some time of their day to help other students are struggling. Being a part of the Jazz Band is amazing. The Jazz Band is really fun and many students have found the jazz band to be talented. This school could improve the activities for school assemblies and for homecoming week.
I really enjoyed a few of the classes that are provide at my school, such as AP Statistics, yearbook production, band, and more. I love how it is a small school in a small town. Due to our school located in the middle of a town, everybody knows each other. Although there are many things I like about this school, I would only change the school spirit.
THIS PLACE IS GUCCI FLIP FLOPS THEIR SWIM TEAM LOOKS LIKE THEY GOIN FOR A SWIM BASKETBALL TEAM SWINGING OFF THE RIM BUT GANG GANG GOT DA HAMMA AND DA RENCH (chub Li by nicki Minaj )
Honoka'a High & Intermediate School is an institution that does its best to give students an education to prepare them for life after high school. The Grammy award-winning Jazz Band is one of the greatest achievements the school has. There is a wide selection of classes to fit a student's interest and the teachers are either amazing, mediocre, or unfit for the job. Overall, the school provides a free education for the small town of Honoka'a that helps direct each students' future.
In this school the people are cranky. There used to be a school spirit with the athletics, clubs and the overall character of the students. There was a certain Pride to the school.
Overall, Honoka'a High and Intermediate School is invested in returning pride and motivation in it's students, and the effort that their administration is making to improve the general environment at the school is remarkable. However, student attitude is poor, there are very few teachers who are interested in educating the population, and there is a lack of acknowledgement by the staff for anyone not involved in athletics.
My school is pretty average on education and most of the students here never leave home. However I want to change that, I want to get out of this small town and go to college and be successful.
