Homestead senior high is overall a decent school. The academics are lacking a bit as not all of the teachers share the same passion, some teachers seem more friend with the students than it should be. There isn’t many AP classes at the school, overall there is no academic challenge or push for students who really want it. The better things include the diversity, the environment of the school is overall really clean and well put together.
Homestead Senior High School is a B-average school. It's very diverse; you can meet different people from all over the world. HSHS prepares the students for college beginning 9th grade year with dual enrollment opportunities, internship programs, and much more.
Homestead Senior High has been a really good experience not including some of the teachers and security. I would like to see things like better and more respectful security, better food, more spaced out lunches so everyone can have a chance to eat within the lunch time, more food options, better snacks in the vending machine, more respectful and capable teachers, and more resources.
Homestead senior high is a outstanding school is very diverse it offers a lot of opportunities for its students
During my 4 years at Homestead Senior High i’ve evolved more and more each day . Through all the tough challenges i’ve overcome Homestead Senior helped me become who i am today.
The staff and teachers are nice. They have a great selection of electives. However they don’t have APUSH…
My experience so far in Homestead Senior High School has been incredible. They have an amazing staff and facilities. Homestead Senior High is like my second home.
Overall had the best experience for my 4 years of high school not only the principal but staff are nice and helpful and caring also.
its a good school like it they helped me with my grades the councel is nice she helped me a lot this is my first year in homestead and i like it more than my old school its nice and everyone is caring and helpful
Okay so, this school is nice. Making friends on the other hand can be quite difficult, many of the students are rude but not as rude as the security. I once really had to use the bathroom and they made me walk all the way around the school just to go from the back entrance. Another thing is how annoyingly strict they are about wearing hoodies. Every time you walk around, you always have to hear someone yell at you about wearing the hoodie. I understand you have the see our faces but you don't have to be sending the students "violating uniform code" to the CSI area. The teachers are really nice but if you are a kind hearted person and don't enjoy fellow classmates disrespecting those nice teachers then I recommend not going here. So many students are always attacking the teachers and a lot of them don't deserve it. Assignments are easy to do are not so stressful, I just wish the environment was less toxic.
Homestead senior high school is a good school. Everyone is friendly and very cooperative. You can make friends easily and make a great connection with teachers as well. Every teacher that you’ll meet will always push u to do the very best. Also the counselors will make sure you are graduation ready.
I have attended Homestead since freshman year, this year being my fourth, and I could say that I am grateful for the experience I gotten. The school is very diverse and I feel comfortable, almost homelike, because of the large population of minority students. Of the faculty and staff that I met and see occasionally, I have no complaints for them. As most public schools, the food could be better, but its nice to have food especially for students who may not have food at home. I feel super prepared for college and I feel academically challenged. I appreciate the wide variety of clubs in the school that allowed me to experience different hobbies and other interests of mine.
This is my first year at this school and I honestly love it; all my teachers are helpful and teach me in amazing ways. The principal is very helpful, right along with the staff; they helped me resolve multiple problems already. In addition, since I am a senior, the CAP advisor is the biggest help ever! She sends out lengthy lists of scholarships, even this one, and answers all my related questions! I love being a BRONCO, and I have so much Bronco-Pride already. I was welcomed into this school with opened arms and kindness. I have so much fun at school & enjoy going everyday!
Very amazing career opportunities. Allowing students to try any program giving them information and experience of a career
In all honesty, I can not thank Homestead Senior High School enough. When my journey at this school began on October 27th, 2021, I was greeted by the orange bronco in the front of the school and all of the administration. I felt welcomed and appreciated when I met the teachers who, soon enough, made a difference in my life and education. Although I wish I could’ve been to a pep-rally or a football game, I am grateful for the opportunities I was given. It is because of Ms. Dixon that this summer I will begin my new journey at the University of Florida on a full-ride with external scholarships as well. When there was an issue, it was resolved. When I accomplished anything, I was recognized. When I was lost or confused, I was guided. I am a proud Class of 2022 alumni and I hope I can give back to my community in the future! :)
My experience at Homestead SHS was good, I really enjoyed my years here. I have learned a lot during my years, how to take a test better, met a lot of new people and every teacher was helpful in many ways possible.
I like the fact that at Homestead Senior High you cannot fail and if you fail you are just lazy. There’s always a teacher or administrator that’ll always go out their way and stick their neck out for a student. There will always be someone there you can talk to or someone that can help you. At Homestead Senior High the students are always put first. They do everything in their power to help their students and stick by their students whether they are wrong or right. Homestead may be the worst or low rated school in south Miami but things definitely have changed over the years. From test scores and grades, Homestead has definitely changed. It’s all because of the teachers is why students do so well or want to do well. Although the only things I wish I could change is the school lunch and get “life ready” classes for like credit and how to manage money. This is my last year at Homestead Senior High and over the years since my freshman year at homestead I’ve had a blast.
