As a very active mover, I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing some amazing schools! Homestead has easily been the most hands on interactive learning environment, all of the teachers were willing to explain lessons in multiple ways so I could grasp it. The staff was caring and compassionate, happy I was able to go to school here.

The academics are strong, and most teachers care a lot about student success. Athletics are VERY popular, and although the administration has recently been trying more to promote the arts departments, the majority of students are focused on football and basketball. Bullying is a large issue; sometimes the administration takes it seriously, but most times not. Majority of students are white, upper middle class; racism, homophobia, transphobia, and xenophobia are rampant. Most teachers and principals work extremely hard, are very kind, and want you to succeed. The school has been trying to crack down on the huge vaping issue and drug usage in general, but not much has changed. The counseling department is always there to help you emotionally/mentally, but depending on who you seek out and talk to, you will have largely different experiences.
The football games are the best part of my entire high school career because everyone is so hyper, loud, and energetic that it makes the whole experience unforgettable. I remember when we all sat down except the seniors, and the seniors read all of us a story which was the funniest thing on the planet, then they had us stomping and moving side to side till this one moment where we had to fall(we were still sitting) on each other, then we stomped again and was screaming and cheering and finally we all jumped up and started yelling for our team. I shall never forget that moment, I felt like all those people were my Big Family and felt right at home. However, the students need to be more educated on the different ethnicities and cultures that surround them instead of being ignorant towards them.
