Homestead is constantly under construction, so navigating campus or focusing on tests may be frustrating at times. However, the semi-competitive nature of the school is great for students who want to challenge themselves while having fun with extracurriculars at the same time! School-led and student-run events (especially regarding school spirit) are not the best, but it all really depends on your mindset and the people you choose to surround yourself with. The ASB and school club management system is as confusing as ever, but some people I know are actively working to change that, so make sure that you know what you're getting yourself into when you join or create a Homestead club.
Homestead High School is excellent in terms of academics and extracurricular activities. Students fair well in all the fields and stand first when it comes to a dedication in general. Staff efforts are much appreciated in general and children excel well and in general, it is an excellent school and facilities provided are extraordinary. Homestead is a school that always follows unity in diversity and children study from all walks of life. Clubs and other activities conducted at school premises and also sports play an important role at school and lots of competitions are conducted and students are benefitted through this type of friendly competition. Students here get into prestigious universities and are placed in a recognized company and get a good carrier opportunity throughout the US and other countries. Our kid had a good experience and is a happy Graduate, Graduating from HOMESTEAD soon. Thank You!
If I had to describe Homestead High School in 1 word, it would be mediocre. It's like middle school but with more people. Homestead is a very average school. There's nothing terrible about it, but there's nothing spectacular either.
Students are hard working, but not too competitive. Teachers are a mixed bag: some are good, some are decent, and some are just plain bad. Administration is alright and don't really care about anything, as long as you don't do anything horrible. Be prepared to shell out a ton of money for things like ASB (yearbook), dances, club fees, and AP Exams + PSAT if you're applying to college.
If you want to do well, just work hard and reach out when you need help. You're pretty much on your own, so you have to go get the opportunities. Good luck!
