I like it. Its one of two options in my town, and I enjoy and look forward to classes every day! I wish there was more of a theatre program, if any. We have a wonderful theatre but the school only utilizes it for the annual Choir musical. That is the only opportunity for people to get on our stage!
People might complain because they are children, but I believe our school does a great job. Homer high school serves free lunches and sponsors many extracurricular classes such as ceramics, construction, welding, drama, choir, band, art, natural resources, and Nutrition and cooking. They do fundraising and senior service projects which helps the community. We have FOLs (focus on learning) at our school which allows us to choose what we do for the last class of the day on Tuesday-Thursdays which can be anything, from ping-pong, movies, board games, study sessions, D&D, or whatever else our teachers come up with. We do bystander green dot training, and have many AP classes to choose from. As well as sometimes serving hot pizza and cookies at the end of the day, and having extra snacks you can buy if the days lunch doesn't suite your tastes. We have many sports you could choose from in every season including winter sports like skiing, hockey, and many other sports. We also have a pool.
Got a great education here, staff will work with you to make sure you succeed, learning structure is personalized based on student needs, you can get a lot of freedom by doing well. Not a lot of diversity, in my last year racism, homophobia, and transphobia were major issues, the school is 90% white.
