As a parent of two elementary age children, I am awed by their academic progress in a short amount of time. Math, Reading, Creative writing, and public speaking is interwoven into their assignments starting in 2nd grade. A rubric grading system for a second grader book report!?! I am also pleased that they are learning their Catholic traditions and becoming good stewards of their environment. Extended Care is super helpful with homework room aides and enrichment after school programs like art, Girl Scouts and Choir plus many others. It's a great community of parents too: Dad's Club, Moms Nights Out, for example help build community. I feel as if I have second pair of eyes on campus through the moms.
My oldest has been attending HSS since he was in Pre-K, he currently is in 5th. My second child is currently in 3rd grade and my daughter will start Kinder next year. Faith, Knowledge and Community are the pillars for this great school and not just buzz words but a lifestyle. We couldn't be happier!
The teachers were nice, my classmates were nice. The curriculum prepared me well for high school but I wish they had more advanced math and science opportunities.
