Holy Spirit School Reviews
Rating 4 out of 5 3 reviews
My daughter started in prek and graduated from 8th grade at Holy Spirit. The teachers treat kids incredible! My daughter was above the national average every year in reading, math and language tests. She now is able to EASILY take AP high school classes because of the teachers at Holy Spirit school. The middle school teachers treat the teens like young adults ;hold them accountable for homework, tests their actions and service within the community. I think these things are frowned upon by younger parents but it's what will make or break them in ANY high school. Kudos to all their teachers for their extra care, concern and religious knowledge that each staff member MUST be continually trained in.
Have our kids in 3K-5K so far and don't regret the investment for one moment. The current principal is very present and knows each kid individually or makes an effort to, the teachers are willing to communicate openly and go out of their way with the parents, yet appropriately challenge our kids. The education on faith is obvious as our kids come home discussing items of religious nature independent of our prompting. At first my wife and I discussed taking it one year at a time and potentially switching to public at some point...but at this point it will be very challenging to ever leave with our current passion and appreciation for the school and what it offers our family.
The elementary program is fantastic for the most part. The middle school program is awful! At first I thought it was just Children, however, the concensus is that the female teachers for middle school are crabby and mean every day. The ones that have children and nieces in their classes allow bullying and have may favorites. The school allows coaches to continue while cussing out the children. If you ever need to reach the principal, you need to show up at his office door to demand to talk because he will not call back or respond to e mails. I sure miss our past 2 principals that genuinely cared about the children and made this school what it was. I have yet to see the current principal even smile. Sad to see this happening but after 10 years here, I’m pulling all my children out.
