Holy Savior Menard Central High School Reviews

This once proud school has seen better years. Open enrollment in the parish has allowed students in the community to choose public schools that are better options. Enrollment has dropped drastically in the last few years which has put a noticeable strain on both academic and extracurricular resources. There are classes without teachers and teams without coaches. Community and parent involvement has disintegrated into just people with direct business or involvement in the curriculum or athletic programs.
DO NOT send your children to this school!!! What was once a great school is being decimated by a horrible administration with a King complex. Enrollment is way down and will keep going down until they are replaced.
Parents should not have that much power over the administration. Menard does employ many great and engaging teachers, though.
I graduated from Menard and I am now in my final year medical school. I highly advise any parent reading this to reconsider sending your child here. I was bullied by teachers and the curriculum included teaching against evolution. The junior year English teacher was an absolute bully to specific students.I am disappointed to see
she is still there and in the same position. Attending this school was an experience which set me back in my education compared to my peers in college and caused lasting psychological harm. Please consider all options before sending your child here if you desire for them to be happy and successful in modern society.

The experience you have Menard is a once in a lifetime experience. You are free to do any extracurriculars and have fun with your classmates. With how small the school is you get the chance to interact with all the students and get to know them. Not to mention Christ is accessible at all times whenever you need him. I would recommend going to Menard if you want a Top Tier education.
Menard offers many opportunities to learn and be involved. The school has a focus on formation of the whole person.
I love how everyone at Menard can openly express their faith: we pray at the beginning of class and can incorporate God in the classroom, one thing we could not do in public school. Menard also has plenty of opportunities in extracurricular activities and many events for its students to participate in.
Most challenging school in Central Louisiana. Highest ACT average. Best teacher/student ratio around, Grades 7-12.
Menard is a good school for academics and offers plenty of higher level courses for those who can take honors/AP courses. The reason I’m giving this school 3 stars is because in my experience around half of the teachers don’t care and are just there for a paycheck. Some teachers truly do care and it shines through their passion for teaching. Some of the rules of this school are quite ridiculous and strict. You have to wear specific socks, shoes, cant wear shorts during some periods of the year or else you’re sent home for the day, etc. Menard is a safe school and the kids here are nicer on average than most schools. Menard is a great school compared to other schools within the Alexandria area, but since you have to spend $6000 plus around $4000 in hidden fees, I am judging the school more harshly.
In my opinion, the best thing about Holy Savior Menard is the ability to grow in your education but also practice your faith at the same time. Along with one of the best educational programs in Louisiana, Menard is a faith-based high school where everyone helps out each other. The faculty and staff is one of the best around, putting eery student before themselves and helping with anything that anyone needs.
This high school is a great pathway to college. I had a lot of great memories in high school. Some practices need to be updated but overall a great school.
My experience at Holy Savior Menard has been excellent. I have met many amazing people. I have worked hard for college. An improvement I would like to see is more helpfulness in college readiness. I am being prepared academically, but I do not know much about scholarships or college in general. The cafeteria food could be improved. The faculty is generally kind and extends a hand to all of the students. Coaches work and push athletes hard and demand them to keep up academically as well.
Great high school experience. I feel that I am college ready! Great teachers and administration. Great sports and coaches, on and off the field.
I like that Holy Savior Menard is a small school. I know everyone there, which means I have many friends. Although, I do not like that my school is extremely controlling. Ever since we acquired a new principle, there are many rules being enforced. I miss the freedom of the old days.
Holy Savior Menard offers a safe environment for a child while also offering a religious environment. Mass is held every Wednesday, along with adoration and prayer in the chapel throughout the week.
Menard offers a Catholic education to any student that apply to the school. Menard is a college preparatory school, where the administration puts the student’s future first. Guidance is always there to ensure that students have a plan for their future.
Holy Savior Menard is all around amazing and has a beautiful atmosphere. The teachers truly prepare you for college and everyone is willing to help each other. The faculty, staff, and students, including parents, make up one big happy family. Everyone knows each other and helps one another when it is needed.
