I went to Holy Redeemer for nine years, and just graduated this past year. The workload is a lot, which is has been helpful in high school, where others are struggling I am used to this workload, however Kindergarteners don't need to be doing A hour and a half, of homework a night. Also some teachers don't live out the gospel, and call kids names, such as snowflakes, or heathens. It is not a very positive environment, and teachers are always trying to find ways to punish students.
This is not the school, to go to if you are looking for a technologically advanced school, there technology is just sad. Athletics are non existent. Also lunch is only 25 minutes for lunch and recess. It is not enough time to eat, and this needs to be changed.
Awards are another hot topic they have these cool awards but give them to the same people every year, I went to the school for nine years and never won an award, and I was one of the better behaved students, but they have favorites.
Overall 2/5

Great community and great academics. Our sophomore in High School is successful because of the foundation she got at Holy Redeemer! Add to that the Catholic foundation and teaching's aligned with what we are teaching at home, this has been a great fit for our three kids.
As an alumna of HR, I look back at all the memories I have made, and I am grateful for HR in making me the person I am today. HR formed me into the being I am today- from the nurturing teachers to the student involvement, I loved my time there. I always felt loved and supported by the whole faculty and never doubted my safety for a minute. I made great friends there, and I am still friends with them today as a sophomore in college. HR prepared me well for high school and college. I learned skills such as public speaking, study skills, organization skills, time management, and the most important, how to have a generous heart. I learned to care about others through the service projects we did as a class. I am so glad my parents decided to choose HR for me as it reinforced the values I learned at home. I will forever be thankful for HR and all it provided for me far into my future.
We are truly blessed to have found this school. Was very concerned switching to a new school for middle school; I can’t say enough wonderful things about this school. It's been an absolute positive experience from the admissions process to my child's seamless transition integrating socially and excelling academically. The teachers, administration, parents and academics are top notch. If you are on the fence about picking or switching schools do your due diligence and ask around the community, not all northern ATL suburban (private and Catholic) schools exhibit the same consistent exemplary standards. Holy Redeemer's high enrollment rate and track record speaks for itself. My only regret is we didn't make the move to HR sooner.
My husband and I had prayed so long and hard for a wonderful school to send our 5 sons to. We prayed for a faith filled community and our prayers were nothing but answered with the blessing of this catholic school. Every single staff member FULLY represents what the catholic faith is all about. My boys enjoyed praying the rosary with me and little did I know they would choose to enter the seminary! Blessings to everyone in this wonderful, faith filled, loving, prayerful, universal community.
After several years in public elementary school we realized our kids were not getting the academic education and life skills we expect. They seemed to be getting pushed through the system and not being challenged or encouraged. After doing research all over the north Atlanta area and visiting over 10 private schools we ended up picking Holy Redeemer. We couldn't have asked for a better school for our kids. The teachers are amazing educators, and great people in general. They are proactive and encourage students to do their best. They prepare their students at a high level on academics, study skills, and organization. I have no doubt they will be well prepared for high school.
Love, Love Holy Redeemer!!! I can't say enough wonderful things about the amazing administration. The environment is so loving & nurturing while providing a really strong academic foundation. They also have homework support M-F for grades 5-8 (no extra charge) which is a life saver! My daughter comes home happy & relaxed with most of her homework completed. Excellent extracurricular activities/after school programs.
This school reminds me so much of the school I went to growing up. It really feels like home when I am there. The teachers are all top notch and all of the staff is so caring. If you are looking for a good Catholic education this is where you need to be. They also really prepare your children for high school in so many ways.
We love Holy Redeemer ... and our children do too. We couldn't be happier and believe our kids are getting a fantastic foundation both academically and spiritually.
Holy Redeemer is an amazing place that provides high academic standards and a solid, faithfully Catholic atmosphere.
Top-Notch Safety precautions are taken. Students feel very safe. The teachers, staff and Middle School students are trained in CPR and AED's. Mrs. Hude and all the teachers make sure you are aware of how to safe in public, on line and with each other. Students don't tolerate unkindness from each other and step up on the occasional "bad day" comment or just not thinking before we speak. It happens everyone is human, but how the people involved and the people handle it make this school awesome and everyone.feels safe and comfortable.
Something for everyone and the library often offers Maker Club activities, Crochet/Knit Group, Book Clubs, etc...
Great experience all the way around--academics, sports, and technology.
There's really nothing that distinguishes HR sports from other schools.
The school nurses really should not be paid for what they do. No matter what, it's just "lie down, have some water."
