I really liked the diverse student population, the supportive nature of the students and faculty, and the small classroom environment. Holy Names offers a stellar experience for women in the Bay Area who are looking to focus on academics, develop their leadership skills, and make amazing connections with counselors and teachers. Before coming to Holy Names, I was terrible at math and science. Holy Names empowers women to go into STEM and offers fabulous math and science departments.
I would say that my only criticism of the school is that the administration should try to build a connection with a local all-boys school. Girls here don't have a lot of social connections outside of school.

I think it was good. But, overall it did have some issues. I feel like the money that the school was receiving wasn't going towards anything. The staff needs some work and there needs to be more opportunities for the students.
I enjoyed my 4 years at Holy Names Highschool because the support from counselors was amazing , the teachers are extremely helpful and the bond I have made with my peers is so special and unforgettable. I also think the location is nice and the school created a safe learning enviroment.
Holy Names High School is a good choice for education if you're looking to just study and get out. There isn't much school spirit, but what the school does provides amazing opportunities for students to connect. I highly recommend participating in these activities as these instances are where you'll build friendships that last a lifetime. I found people here that I now consider family. So, no there won't be football games every Friday (we are invited to local school's games), but you will meet the best of friends here.
If you decide to join any type of leadership, be prepared for a lot of pushback, we have nuns here and traditions are strong. Some good (Junior ring, Kairos) some bad (strict uniform, hard to fundraise), just make the best of your time here with the people you meet. My four years were great here and although I wish some things had been different, I don't regret my choice of attending this institution. I met lifelong mentors, friends, and gained tons of confidence.

Holy Names High School is an AMAZING high school for young women. If you are ever looking for a school that encourages girls to strive for academic excellence all while having the chance to become resilience young women, this is the school for you!!
My daughters attended Holy Names High School. It has been one of the best experiences of their lives. I highly recommend anyone searching for a safe and diverse school that offers a full academic agenda to prepare and provide the tools to thrive in a college setting and beyond.
Holy Names high school has done nothing but help me succeed this past year, and even though teachers and administration were juggling so much work, they always would be willing to be flexible and take a little weight off my back.
I felt very welcome by the students and teachers. Super Diverse, super friendly, and open to all religions. It's an honor to be able to go there.
I had a really good experience at Holy Names. I grew a lot and am grateful for everything I experienced there.
To me, Holy Names was my second home: I spent a lot of time at school and doing extracurricular activities during my four years there. I really grew mentally and developed my critical thinking skills within the close-knit school, especially since I was in the Achieve program. I made life long friends and I thrived in their small, discussion-based courses. I also went straight to a private, four year school afterwards. - '16
Holy Names High School was a very uniques experience for me. I was able to step out of my comfort zone and be myself. I started as a shy freshman and by the time it was senior I could see the change. I got many opportunities not other people have and I am very fortunate to have gone to HNHS.
My experience at HNHS was absolutely incredible. The all-girls experience allows young women at the school to discover themselves academically, socially, & artistically in a safe environment that fosters growth. At HNHS, I explored my passion for theater, leadership, music, & global immersion -- all at once. I was exposed to a variety of opportunities, such as the Peer Mediation program, one that was developed when I was a freshman (2015), that allows students to resolve conflicts in a safe space on campus. When I was a junior (2017-18), I had the lifechanging opportunity to travel to Kenya with a group of students through a program called Powerful Beyond Measure. I would not have been able to experience conflict resolution & immersive travel without the support of the HNHS community. My experience at HNHS was both unique & lifechanging -- & I truly believe that experiences like mine are particular to Holy Names. After all, you cannot receive the Noblesse Oblige spirit anywhere else!
Holy Names High School is a school designed to empower young women. Before I came to Holy Names High School, I was less confident and didn't have faith in myself to become a leader. Now, as a senior, I participate in various clubs and have even traveled to Kenya as part of a program named Powerful Beyond Measure. Without Holy Names High School, I wouldn't have known my full potential and be the person I am today.
The school is very diverse and the staff members are very friendly with all the students. On campus there is a student resource center which is full of helpful information about the academic life of a student and the personal life outside of school as well.
Very Friendly, teaches kids about the will and love of God. Diverse. Surrounded by wonderful and caring teachers and friends.
Holy Names High School is truly a special place. It has the ability to bring out the confidence in one. I remember I would dread to raise my hand in middle school because I felt as if I was not smart enough, but Holy Names has helped me grow confidence and realize that I am truly smart. The confidence it has helped me develop allowed me to grow both personally and academically. For that, I truly believe that I am prepared to go to college and prove to myself that I can do it. Holy Names not only cares about ones academics, but they also make sure that their students are doing well, emotionally and mentally, due to the size of the school. The small schools provides students to have the ability to have a true relationship with their teachers. Holy Names wants the best for their students and they truly do that by always trying to improve.
I love holy names because it’s a small community school. It’s like being apart of a family. Holy names supports females 100% and encourages everyone to never give up. I feel that’s always needed for everyone attending high school.
It's a good school. The diversity is astounding. The teachers can be a hit or a miss but for the most part, they are cool.
Holy Names was the best choice I could've made when entering high school. The welcoming, all female environment was what made Holy Names truly unique and inviting. All the students make you feel so welcome and the teachers are truly invested and committed to welcoming students, and making sure current students are achieving the highest grade possible. They make themselves available for students and ensure that they take the time to address a student if they seem to be falling behind in any way. The counseling department was crucial to the assistance of students- especially when applying for college. They ensured that everyone in the senior class was given a college counselor to assist in the common application and writing processes, and made student's goals and lists realistic for each student. The biggest impact that Holy Names had on me was how tight-knit each class is, and how each student is truly an individual and not simply some other student.
The only thing that keeps me sane is the relationship I have with the friends I have made here. This school has caused me mental distress. Improvement could be made on my part, but this school has taken a large toll on me in terms of motivation and mental health.
