I went to Holy Ghost for 6th grade—so about 8 years ago—and left about halfway through the school year. I remember me and my friend being bullied for being darkskin/Black by basically the whole class which consist of mostly white Latinxs and non-Black people—we were the only Black people in the class excluding the teacher. I didn’t know what to say or how to go about this so I wasn’t vocal about it, but my friend told her mom and her mom told the school/teacher. Our teacher later talk to the class and broke down while lecturing the class about racism/the situation. At the time I didn't know why or understand her crying, but now I know. She‘s felt what me and my friend went through. I’m saying this because none of them received punishment by the school and everything went back to “normal.” There should be a discussion about racism. Just because the school consists of mostly latinxs, doesn’t mean racism can’t exists.
This small school, completely reorganized ,has extended standards of education. Intended to give Spanish speaking gifted children a true chance of going to college. Small classes. Teachers with PhD . Practically individual education. Some courses offered already out of high school programs.Religious education appears comfortable for families adhering to traditional moral values of Christianity. My daughter finishes now 6th Grade with all A's ( while she was taking 8th Grade courses ) This school should have six stars.
We were looking for a school where students would learn about Jesus Christ, Christian values, and high academic achievement. Now in May, we have screen the positive academic achievement and dedication and integrity in action by our children and their classmates.
Unorganized and lacks a solid academic environment. Homeschooling would be a better choice for your student.
