The school didn't offer a lot of programs for students who are interested in careers. That's something I wanted in high school. Overall I did like how small the school was, you pretty much knew almost everyone in your same year.
My experience with Holy Cross has been great. Me and my parents love it here and are happy with our decision for me to go here. The teachers care about their students academic success. I also like that Holy Cross forces students to be a part of extracurricular activities which allows the students to get to know each other better and to find where they belong
My grades went up as soon as I went to this school. There are lots of options for clubs and extracurricular activities. We are above average in our sports and almost everyone is involved in a sport at my school. There are a lot of intelligent people here that care about their education, but I have to say that there are a lot of people who don't care and just come to school to play around. The freshman that just came into Holy Cross, the class of 2027, have been rowdy and cussing all of the time with no regard for anyone around them. I don't know if that is because they are freshmen or this is the way they are but I hope not.
The community at Holy Cross is one that you will not receive at many other schools. Here, you aren't just a number on a spread sheet but a name and face noticed in the school. The attention and care each student receives is extremely important in our learning environment. In addition, Holy Cross is coed which we believe is extremely important because that is what it is in the real world. I wouldn't choose any other school to further my high school education. The opportunities here are limitless in what you can do.
I liked very little about it. I only liked the coaches on the football team and some teachers. I disliked most of the stuff about Holy Cross. The main things I did not like is the amount of bullies. I also did not like how people are treated by teachers and mostly the people in the administrations office.
I think Holy Cross has always had a good family environment, but I think the next step for them is to branch out among other families. Holy Cross has an amazing internship program which is used once a week for every grade in the high school. This program really allows students to get a inside look at the outside world, and have the opportunity to get a look at some of the professions we desire. The school could definitely improve on the school itself in a physical way by adding carpet for comfort, new sports facilities, and designated rooms for clubs in the school. New sports facilities will be a great asset to Holy Cross because 80% of the students are athletes in multiple sports.
Holy Cross is a very small community. There are not many extra curriculars that you can participate. The teachers are not very consistent all the time. There is little diversity in the school.
Holy Cross has a strong family atmosphere. It’s a small school so everybody knows everybody. It’s easy to become involved in sports or clubs and most students participate in multiple activities. Everyone cares about each other and the school. We have small classes so we get a lot of individual attention from the teachers. The teachers are also very involved in the school as well and it is not uncommon for them to attend sporting events and cheer their students on.
I loved the family environment of Holy Cross. I gained some of my closest friends at Holy Cross. The sports allowed me to bond with students of all ages instead of having separation between grades. Holy Cross prepared me to be highly successful in college. They allowed me to be a step ahead of most other college freshmen through their education and internship program. The internships program provided me with experience in the field I had considered majoring in in college. Because of this experience in the work field, I decided on my major before I entered college and was able to begin my classes for it right away.
Holy Cross is a small school where everyone will know your name. I transferred in as a junior and I loved being there. The teachers are truly there for you a help you out as much as they can. The school encourages sports and wants kids to be involved as much as they can. Over half of the kids participate in a sport and or club. About 95% of the kids participate in 3 sports. Holy Cross isn't just an average building, it's home. Everyone in that special place is family.
I love the small class sizes. I think the whole school spends to much time out of the class room!! The school is growing but has a way to go. The school started a co-op training program this year which is great! But most of the kids are just wasting there time, they do not have the students in a company they will befit a lot of them because they are not getting any kind of training. But I'm sure this program will be better.
Holy Cross is a small school, but the community feel is huge. Holy Cross offers classes for each learning level, ranging from Algebra I to A.P. Calculus. With amazing teachers, each student's needs are met everyday to ensure a great learning environment. Throughout my four years at Holy Cross, I have never felt so close to a community. Now that I hav graduated, I still feel welcomed back to Holy Cross to share my love with other Alumni. I could never thank Holy Cross enough for the four years that it gave me.
I love everything about Holy Cross. It is such a friendly environment and it actively engages and pushes me to be the best I can be every single day.
When I first discovered Holy Cross, I thought that it was going to be one of the best four years of my life. I already knew a lot of people that were going there. When I shadowed holy cross, students were very welcoming and happy to be there. Then my first day of high school approached. The shadow Days and the actual high school days are so different. The teachers acted like they were not happy to be there, the classes were definitely boring, and they don't update the building often at all. The good thing about it though, the cost is affordable for most people. The food that they serve is just like any other school lunch. Nothing special. Compared to all of the other high schools, holy cross's lunches were ok I guess. By sophomore year, I transferred to another catholic high school and it was the best decision I've ever made. If your looking for a high school that is affordable and co-ed, holy cross might be the place for you. To me, there a lot of better high schools out there.
Holy Cross High School provides a well-rounded education for my child. He is challenged academically, involved in extra-curricular activities and is part of a family environment. Teachers are dedicated to ensuring that he receives the best preparation for college and life.
This school has poor leadership and unrealistic expectations. There are only two pathways for classes, one being excel and the other being below average. Far too much time and energy are spent on service activities. I am a true believer in doing service, but school should first focus on academics. Many of the teachers do care about the students, but there are still quite a few who push their own beliefs instead of facts and then grade based on their own opinions. The grading scale has also not been updated, so it is more difficult to get higher grades and have a higher GPA, which sounds like no big deal until you get less in scholarships and other financial help for college. In general I have found as the students progress towards their senior year, they are ready to be done with this school and do not have much positive to say about it. As a parent, I would not suggest sending a child to this school and was frankly taken aback that the rating on this site was so high.
I loved going to school there! The teachers truly care about every student! I felt so prepared for college upon graduation!
