I have enjoyed my experience at Holtville High School. The best part is that the faculty and staff truly care about the well-being and education of their students. The worst part would be the changes that seem to happen quite often. There is nothing major I would like to see change.
All of the staff are very excited to be in the classroom, and find ways to make learning enjoyable. The extracurriculars are engaging, interactive, and extremely enjoyable. The sports teams are good and the student body is very supportive of the athletes. My least favorite part is honestly the students. Some of the younger grades are disrespectful and rude, and need to mature. Otherwise, the Holtville experience is pretty awesome.
This is hands down the best school in the nation. We have the best teachers and the best staff. Everyone loves everyone at the school. We all go out of our way to let one another feel welcome and involved. This school has great academics and teachers who care about your future. I have never felt more prepared for my life after high school. We have classes once a week that teach us life skills that are actually useful. We have numerous clubs, sports, and extracurriculars to get people involved. We have numerous resources provided day in and day out. I have been incredibly blessed to have been able to be apart of an incredible institution for the last 13 years!
Holtville is and excellent school. Everyone knew everyone, and they were all willing to help. The staff, students, and administrators are all so welcoming and kind. I truly love going to school there.
I have a great school and so thankful to be raised in this community. I am very involved in my school. Such as clubs, extra curricular activity’s. Holtville High is a excellent school! The facility and staff are very involved and do a wonderful job teaching the students.
HHS has a great environment for students to excel in. Many teachers want the best for their students and will work hard to give them their best shot. There are many extra curricular activities that allow kids to stay involved and grow in many aspects. The administration is good, but they do not plan ahead. Communication also lacks. Athletics take priority over academics in many cases. The history department is mostly made up of coaches who do not teach.
I outsourced a lot of my classes to avoid some of the teachers who weren’t as qualified to be teaching AP classes. Overall, it’s a really good school, but it has many downsides.

I love the family like environment Holtville High School provides. Being a smaller school the teacher to student ratio is helpful at giving the students one on one help. One thing that needs improvement is better control of attendance. We have a substantial number of students out regularly and I believe it would help, not only test scores, but the academic achievements of many more students in the school.
I have been very fortunate to be able to attend Holtville High School. Our principal, teachers, and staff are all truly involved day to day in supporting our mission “Every Student Empowered, Every Student Succeeds”. These are not empty words or a fancy mission statement to post on school literature. As students, we are encouraged and feel as though we can and will succeed. Our principal can be seen any day doing anything from directing traffic, initiating conversations with students using their name, picking up debris in an obscure area unlikely to be seen by anyone. The work done here in helping prepare students for college is heartfelt.
The teachers and faculty are generally helpful and kind, and they seem like they want to see students succeed. The historic building is nice, but some aspects of the facility need work, particularly the restrooms and PA system. It is in a safe location and has a good campus.
I like the tight community. The school has an outstanding support system and our principal does everything he can to make sure we are empowered and able to succeed. I would only like to see the other students realize this and change their attitudes.
Holtville High School is a great school in a great community. The faculty and staff love and care deeply about their students. They love what they do and work extremely hard to see the Purpose achieved. There are numerous academic pathways and opportunities to meet the needs of all students including Advanced Placement and Career Technical courses. The school offers a wide variety of quality sports and extracurricular clubs and opportunities for a school our size. HHS also offers a unique schedule that affords students one free hour in the middle of the day to allow time for lunch, tutoring, club meetings, and various other activities. The environment is very safe, enthusiastic, and positive with few disciplinary issues.
Teachers are very involved in supporting and teaching the students. The faculty is very helpful and wants the best for the school and student body as a whole.
Holtville is a family based community. Same thing with all three schools. Everyone cares for one another, and we all check up on each other. It's a really small town so it's easy to stay in the know. Four generations of my family have grown up here, and with my brothers baby on the way, that number will continue to grow. Yeah, through out the years I have definitely had ups and downs, for instance: in middle school I was about 4'10 and weighed nearly 150, the bullying that happened within those years were ridiculous. But, with the amazing administrative staff, they helped me to get through that. Now, I am happier than ever and living to be my best self. I know that this asked me to review the high school, but in Holtville it truly is three schools, one community. So, I couldn't settle without acknowledging how amazing all three schools were.
Holtville High School has a very high diversity rate. From this, you learn many different things form many different people's perspective. Holtville High School has taught me to see the bigger picture. That there is a purpose at the end of a very long tunnel. Holtville High School has taught many things. I would love to see the school get better resources, textbooks, etc., so other students can learn better then I did.
Holtville is a lovely small town with friendly people. The schools are great! It would be nice to see some more open minded people working there, but the overall feel is wonderful!
Going to Holtville was great, but there were so many advanced students struggling because of lack of teaching/good teachers. The school never focused on academics but mainly on sports and dress code. The counselor was never reliable and ruined many scholarship opportunities for me because of lack of efficiency. There were a handful of good teachers who had a passion for helping students learn and I don't think I could have made it without them.
I've attended Holtville High School for four years. I have been all around satisfied with the quality of education that I've been provided. The only downfall that I see is that our school system offers the iNow Portal for students and parents to stay updated on grades in which some teachers do not update in a timely manner.
