Going to Holton is such a special experience because by the time you graduate from Holton, your small grade has become so close and together, and school really starts to feel like home. I think the teachers and the people are what make it such a special place. They care a lot about you; they are all very impressive, and you always feel like you are in good hands. However, the workload is a lot, and sometimes I wish we had more time for fun things. I do think in the past two years, Holton has definitely been trying to make it a more fun and spirited environment.
Without a doubt, Holton Arms is the best decision we've made with our daughter's education. From academics to diversity... the community to the athletics, Holton Arms is... hands down... a great place for girls to grow, create community and to build great educational & social skills.
As a family who's been a part of lower, middle & upper school, we love the support of each division and the opportunities for risk taking and maturation that our daughter has been exposed to.
We highly recommend Holton Arms!

Mean girl culture is prevalent. Academic reputation is self-manufactured. There are better schools in the area. Feels like the parents are focused on the wrong things here.
I absolutely love holton and wouldn’t grade my experience here for the world. It’s an amazing school where the quality of academics is high and the level of competition is equally tough. Sometimes; the competition can be taxing mentally, but it encourages me to work hard. In addition, being in a small all girls school had allowed me to be a part of several clubs and school organizations which is my favorite part.
Such a good school. Prepares you well for college, but not much diversity especially when it come to Hispanics and social class.
Holton Arms is a pressure cooker. Period. It expects the girls to be superlatives in everything - athletics, artistic, academic, community service, etc. There is no room for well-rounded, curious, exploratory students - you are on a track and you better follow it if you attend the school.
As a parent, it has been tough to see daughters and their peers struggle through this with anxiety and pumped up on Adderol to manage workload, and crushed when they get into the same colleges their peers do at less competitive institutions.
The school offers little in return for all of this. The one beacon of light are the teachers and coaches - they care, commit, and work with girls. However, academic help outside of classroom is non-existent, college counseling non-existent, and true focus on bringing out the best in girls non-existent. If your child thrives in a "dog eat dog" world, it is perfect for her.

everyone is very kind and welcoming. you always have at least one teacher that you can go to with help if you are stressed and the environment is really fun.
I love Holton! Holton has a very strong community that helps to foster a fun and enjoyable environment to learn which has really helped me, especially in the past year (during covid).
I love being a student at Holton-Arms! The school has a strong community and rigorous academics. The teachers are fantastic.
I love the school community and all the traditions we have here. All of the teachers really care about us and want us to succeed, which fosters a comfortable, safe, and fun learning environment.
One of my favorite aspects of Holton is definitely the community. I love my teachers, staff, and peers, and I know that the people here deeply care about me and my well-being. Additionally, I know that my Holton education definitely prepares me well for the future, not only for when I go to college but also for my life after school.
Great STEM program, great theatre productions, stellar swim, lacrosse, and tennis teams, caring teachers, most diversity I’ve seen in a school, kind student body, and just overall a great experience!
Holton-Arms offers a wide range of classes, extracurriculars, and sports. The school is very well adapted to preparing students for college, and we have very good food. However, the student culture often engulfs people in feelings of doubt and stress due to the competitive nature of students. There is a lot of pressure to be outstandingly unique relating to the college admissions process. The administration has not even acknowledged the existence or the origins of these issues that deteriorate the mental health of the general student body and often ignores any attempt at communication with the students about this subject. The teachers act as though the only homework we have is the assignments due for their class. Although these issues are prevalent, the general attitude among the teachers is very undertanding, and they will listen to you if you email them when explaining that you are not able to do assignments.
I honestly love Holton so much, and everyone's been so friendly and caring since I came. the tests are hard and the teachers are there to help you but also to push you to your limits. I found it super easy to make friends, but the students in my grade are pretty competitive and political, and I wish that people wouldn't spread rumors or talk behind other people's backs, but I guess that is to be expected at an all-girls school. There are certain exclusive clubs at Holton that I don't understand and nobody explains, and needing to do sports and put in extra time commitment after school also took some time for me to adjust to.
Honestly, Holton-arms is the best school I have ever been to. They have taught their students how to be inclusive and respectful to the whole spectrum. When I was at Holton I was so welcomed. This school has accommodated all of my passions.
I love Holton because it’s such a great environment and I feel like all the teachers and faculty really want me to succeed and care about me. I’ve also met some of my best friends here and made such great connections
I love Holton!! I love the girls and I love how nice all of the faculty, staff, and teachers are. I feel so at home when I am at Holton!
I like the freedom and kindness extended to every student at Holton. It's a very welcoming school, full of kind and helpful teachers and classmates. I greatly enjoy being one of those students. Holton gives us what we need to soar and do well. I love it here, and I hope everyone who joins the Holton Family will too.
Holton is an academically challenging, yet really rewarding school. I've learned a lot being a student here and feel as though it's prepared me for college and adult life. The students and the teachers work together well to create a welcoming, kind, and fun environment where everyone fits in and has a role to play.
I love Holton. It has challenging classes, but they help me learn and I feel like I’ll be prepared for college when I leave. The community at Holton is also great and I’ve met amazing people here.
