Holt High School is literally the best school I’ve ever been to. From ninth-twelfth each grade I experienced a loving and genuine environment. My ninth grade year there was a new building being built and once we moved to the new building it was more than I could I ever imagine. The school was beautiful inside and out. The teachers are loving and supportive in every way possible. I can say with honesty all the teachers I had were really rooting for me and my former classmates from the moment we all met each other. Holt High School has many clubs and organizations that are very diverse that you can join from fishing clubs to FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). The students there at Holt thrive off high levels of collaboration and communication. At Holt High School there are classes were they have many hands on learning experiences that provide a good, fun, a learning moment. Overall I can say Holt High School is the greatest school ever and I am proud to be an alumni of 2022.
I loved my time there, the north campus is so quiet and relaxing plus the staff is amazing they are so funny , kind and respectful you can tell they really love their jobs. They engage with students and really try to make everyone feels accepted and included. I only went to holt for one year I wish I could’ve went there all fours years. It is really a great school.
I loved holt, in holt we all make friends or friend groups and we all learn to like each other there
I do not like my school at all. It's very unorganized, and potential opportunities are being missed out. Teachers often give up on us and leave the school, so we see new faces every semester. The education we received can be better. Much better. But, that isn't no excuse to not graduate.
Holt is a good school that I've learned good things from. The teachers are focused and really help students out.
Holt High School is a 4A High School. The school is approximately 65 percent African American approximately 20 percent white and approximately 10 percent hispanic and approximately 5 percent other.
Academic are good but may be below average compared to other schools in the county. Extracurricular activities are below average, as the options are very limited.
I would consider the staff to be average, but seem to have a genuine interest in the students. However, as a senior, I really wished I can receive more infomation from my counselor regarding scholarship opportunities or grants to pay for college

I hate it here. The food is horrible, the teachers couldn't care less, the administration is ridiculous, the rules and procedures are not necessary. I do love my History/Economics/Civics teacher, Mrs. Walker.
The teachers are horrible. The food is terrible. Poor administrators and rules. Would not recommend.
Holt High School was the best experience I've had all through my school years. Attending this school taught me a lot about myself and matured me though my whole four years of attending Holt High. As I got more involved with the school , I learned to speak up and take action on what I wanted in life. Sophomore year, we got an amazing principle she helped get early college in for those who were interested. I really was excited to get in the early college program because I knew I would gain good knowledge about college and how classes would be for a college student. The staff is so helpful in making sure you fill out applications to apply for college and also with giving help with the ACT prep. Now, I'm a Freshman in college at The University of Alabama and I'm so blessed to have the knowledge that Holt High School gave me while taking The University of Alabama Early College program (UAEC) and also receiving help from the counselor.
Holt High Was A Good School, I made the best of it. Our Principal was The Worst And It Could of been Cleaner But It Was A Old Building. We was the last Class that Graduated From the Old Building (2k18) Future Students should have a New School
I moved back home my freshman year and, honestly, I was scared to go to Holt. I had heard so many bad things about the school that I had opted for home schooling (which didn’t last long). When I finally attended the school, it was a bit of a mess. The administrators then were doing very little to calm the students down, and fights broke out very often. At that time, it was a failing school. However, as we got a new administration, things improved a little. There were fewer fights, rules were enforced, and all was relatively peaceful.
Holt is a low-income school. There's just no sugarcoating it. But you can't blame the school or the students for it. The Tuscaloosa County School System has six schools, five of which are well populated and well funded. Unfortunately, Holt got the short end of the stick, and many people believe it is because of the high population of black and other students of color.
All in all, Holt may not seem like the best school, but we're trying, and it's home.

As a high school itself I suppose it's alright. I'm just not very big on the whole "high school experience" or anything like that.
My overall experience in Holt High was average. I enjoyed playing volleyball. I enjoyed listening to my teachers teach me everything in their knowledge. I also enjoyed the diversity in Holt High School.
Loved the school spirit! Despite the reputation our school had, the students, faculty, and staff always had the most pride for our school.
My experience with Holt high school was an weird, crazy interesting. I was involved in football and baseball there and in football in all 4 years I went through 4 different coaches. In baseball I went through 3 coaches in 4 years. While in school I was envoled in JROTC and a few year part of the AB honor roll club and many more. I'm really happy i gradated from Holt high school, because it made me push harder In life and make me earn everything that I wanted.
Holt is an Okay school. I feel like they should do more with the students and make it more of a fun Highschool experience because I will say I am not please with it being my last year here! It's nothing to remember but how bad it was.
It is not the best school to go to if you are looking for a great education. The building for the school is old. They have good teachers at times, but when they change principals lots of the good teachers get fired or leave. I would try to patch up the building while fighting for a new school. And new principals should do a survey to know what teachers to keep at which ones to replace.
